Tetra77852 Whisper Air Pump, 20-Gallon

The media could not be loaded.  This is the 3rd one I've bought, for my 3rd aquarium. It's right next to my bed and it's so quiet I have to check and make sure it's still working. They are all this quiet, but this one is bigger and it's still quiet.

This pump is a little louder than I would have liked, but supplies my 20 gallon tank with plenty of aeration!

Using in a 12 gal edge with 5" air stone and it works perfectly. Very quiet and pumps plenty of air.

"Whisper" is not the best description. More like a low buzzing. I placed mine over a bit of foam to no great affect, and if the cords or anything touch it, it buzzes like crazy. It'll sound very loud at first until you attach a hose, so the video samples aren't entirely accurate. Those sound like a motorboat going by! I was more worried until I realized my hoses were part of the sound muffling.The more air you use, the louder it will become, but I think using less puts more stress on the pump.No check valve included. No airflow control lever included. Just the pump. If buying this, I recommend the Pawfly 2-Way Control Lever. It's always good to have a spare control anyway, in case of quarantine emergencies or upgrades. Their suction cups are garb, but their control is solid metal.

Shipped quickly. I had to edit my review. I use this in an 8 gal tote running a small air stone in my hydroponic system. After 2 weeks the pump is still working but no air is coming out or very little but not enough to keep My very small air stone producing working. It's not the stone...if u put your finger over the outlet of the pump is just a very slight amount of air. Very disappointed.

Oh I needed air for my aquarium and I needed it to be QUIET !! Can't even tell it is on ( noise wise) Gives a great amount of air so if you are using on a small tank (mine is a ten gallon) be sure to get an air regulator. I use these small pumps during the winter in my sun porch to help circulate the water in the large tubs that I overwinter my pond plants in. These pumps keep the water fresh and the plants make it until spring.I have no complaints with these small pumps. They do the job I need done. I use them in large tubs. Last year I put a couple small koi in the large tubs along with the plants and they survived the winter as well. I keep grow lights on the tubs. I am not putting fish in the tubs this year - just the plants and so far they are doing well - I see no reason why they won't keep the plants alive until Spring. They are fairly quiet. No complaints.
