Review: Couch Savers - These nail caps are life savers!! I really wish I would have found them sooner. We have an 11 month old cat who weighs a little over 11 pounds. We got him the size medium and they are working great! We clip his nails every 1-2 weeks but he still marks up our leather couches, shower curtain, hamper, jeans... ANYTHING he can get his claws on! Decided to give these a try because for the price, it was worth a shot. Now that he has these on, NO MORE SCRATCHES!!! They were easy for us to put on since he's used to getting his nails clipped anyways. Right away I could tell they were NOT hurting him at all but he was not used to them. He bit them and tried to pull them off (painful to watch) for about a day or two but now it's been 3 full days and he barely touches them. He still uses his scratching post, runs around the house, uses the litter box, and partakes in all his usual destructive kitty activities. One cap did fall off (I think when he was using the scratching post), but the other 7 are still on. I can tell they don't hurt him at all, he just needed to get used to them! Absolutely love these caps and will be buying more in the future.
Review: I had my doubts, but they work! - I didn’t have much hope for these as 20 years ago my neurotic cat at the time hated these and tore them off overnight. We’re desperate with our new cat as he’s destroying the furniture, but don’t want to resort to declawing. He surprisingly has kept them on for 4 days now with only one falling off and needing replacing. The colors are super cute, and they’re pretty easy to put on. We highly recommend giving treats the whole time. They were also not super expensive so if they didn’t work, it wasn’t too much wasted.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How long do these cat nail caps typically stay on?**
A: They last 3 to 5 weeks, falling off naturally as nails grow. Cats adjust quickly, though some may chew them initially.

**Q: What is the easiest way to put the caps on a squirmy cat?**
A: Having two people helps: one wraps the cat in a towel while the other applies the caps. Offer treats right after to distract them.

**Q: Can my cat still retract their claws and use a scratching post?**
A: Yes! When correctly applied, cats can still extend and retract claws normally. They can use scratching posts without damaging furniture.

**Q: How do I apply the glue without making a mess or hurting my cat?**
A: Trim nails first. Fill the cap 1/3 full with glue to prevent spilling onto fur, and wait a few seconds before applying.

**Q: How do I know which size will fit my cat?**
A: XS fits kittens, while Small and Medium fit most adults. Since paw size varies, you can snip the open end of the cap for a snug fit.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well for my kitten, but takes patience to apply
*by S***A on July 12, 2025*

These nail caps are perfect for my 12-week-old kitten! They’ve really helped prevent her from scratching our skin and furniture. The colors are fun and cute, and the set includes plenty of caps and glue to last a while. That said, they’re not the easiest to put on—it takes some patience, especially with a wiggly kitten. And even when applied correctly, a few caps tend to fall off sooner than expected, so you may need to reapply from time to time. Still, they’re very effective for scratch control, and I’ll keep using them.
