SVBONY SV219 Telescope Dovetail Plate, 210mm 8.26” Dovetail Mount Plate

I bought this to add a second dovetail to my Meade 6" ACF OTA so I can rotate it easily for different mounts. This dovetail isn't machined, but it is well made and it works. The only downside for me is that it has no provision on the ends for safety stops. Given the way I use the OTA, I can insert a screw in the center threaded hole for one safety stop, but I'd prefer to have one on each end like the Meade original dovetail.

This was perfect for my application which was to mount a Questar 3.5" telescope to an equatorial wedge. The fit and finsh were excellent, and the bar was planar with no wobble. I modified it a bit by reaming out the center 1/4-20 threads to accommodate a thumbnut with a larger shaft. Added adhesive felt along the mating surfaces too in order to protect the precious Q! Since it is a bit wider than the 7" diameter Questar base, I made an oak block with a radius to help "locate" the Questar when I attach it. Also, it arrived one day earlier than promised. Overall, a good bargain compared to some of the other dovetails to which I was comparing it.

SVBONY is relatively new to me but the SV219 Dovetail like most other products that are a quality product at a competitive price. Check them out, I have seen some interesting products coming out.

The mount on the SV520 telescope isn't great so we replaced it with this SV219. The holes line up and it fits and works perfectly. Well made. No issues with it. It allows the use of other camera mounts and such to be bolted to it which we needed.

Nice dovetail. Good assortment of slots and holes for mounting equipment.

Buen materia y resistente. viene con 2 tornillos uno de 1/4 y 3/8 osea el tornilo normal de camaras dslr y uno ancho. Perfecto.

I was looking for a dovetail plate for my 80mm refractor and this one was the best I could find. Note: the picture for the 8 inch is wrong, it is like the 4 inch but in 8.

The product was exactly what I wanted, good job.

What i wanted was a Dovetail bar to mount my D-SLR Camera to my telescope Mount. This advertisement gave me the impression that this came with, not one but two 1/42 bolts. They are not! * Pros: Decent Dovetail bar, about the right size... * Cons: ... but could be wider to accept/fit Telephoto Lens' Tripod Foot. Could have 1/4" Bolt for said mounting purpose. It is really difficult, near impossible, to find any 1/4" Bolts of the correct Thread in any hardware shops these days, so very frustrated with this purchase. Hence only 3* !
