Eyecatching!! Besides it being a great book, place it on your center table and it gives a very aesthetical look. Can't go wrong with a hardcover classic.

I really like my copy of these books. I read them well over 30 years ago, but have recently been encouraged to revisit them. The names are so much easier for me to pronounce than those in Les Miserables.The book has the look of a nice classic and belongs with other books of this category on my bookshelf.

Translation is great as is legibility of the typesetting. Presentation of the book inspiring and suitable to the content. Can be a 5-star book with an iteration on book design to improve durability. Specifically the fine gold design work on the cover gets banged up over the course of a single read. In a controlled environment never leaving the house the front cover looks similarly to other photos imaged in other reviews. If for example you travel on airplanes where books bounce around in luggage, or are reading for a class environment, you will want a different paper backed copy that doesn't matter if it gets banged up. For this reason I'm not sure where to place the purpose of this hard back book. For beautiful design that looks nice on a shelf, it should be durable enough to last decades and potentially held onto by children when you pass. The gold leaf of this copy flakes off after one read. Not sure what to do with that. Iterating design to use a more durable golf leaf or finding a protective layer of some sort would resolve these issues. Perhaps there is an after-market process you get apply after purchase to add some protective layer to the exterior.

This is a beautiful copy. My daughter had asked for these books for Christmas, and I was thrilled to find her such a high quality and beautiful combo at a good price. This has a timeless feel to it -- 20 years from now, it will still look like a beautiful book.

Love it! I look smart, I feel smart, and I get to read about Achilles being petty. Perfect! <3
