Make sure your batteries are good!
I have struggled with thick, coarse facial hair for most of my adult life due to PCOS. I had to shave every day, or would have a man beard and mustache and side burns. My upper lip was permanently red from razor burn and I was constantly checking and reapplying makeup and avoiding anything that would make me sweat in front of people. 20 years of this... I decided to give epilation a try after weeks of reviews and research. I will not lie, it hurts like a mother the first time. Especially if you have coarse and thick hair but if you're tired of dealing with the hair you'll suck it up because it is worth it. The second time I laughed because the pain was not even a third of what it was the first time. I also have a Remington Smooth and silky epilator that works great but this one really gets into the crevices on your face and isn't very loud so it's not so scary. I personally would like a corded version of this epilator but I have rechargeable batteries so it's all good. I thought it was defective after the first use but my batteries were not very good, switched them and it works mint! This epilator gets stubble that you can barely feel with your hand and is not painful, in my opinion. Any hair removal can be painful and while it was very painful the first time, daily razor burn and skin irritation was painful every day, not just once or twice a week. I have gone into town without makeup on since using my Emjoi and I wouldn't even go outside without makeup on before. I am in LOVE with Emjoi!

Epi Slim changed my life!
I developed a facial hair problem after I stopped taking birth control. It started out with a hair or two, and within a few years, there were large patches on my chin, jawline and neck. I also had smaller patches forming on my cheeks. If I devoted an hour or so each day to tweezing, for the most part I could keep it under control. But when the light hit my face a certain way, or I went a day without tweezing, my face was as rough as sand paper in places from the regrowth. I felt manly. I felt like no matter how much I worked at it, I would never really solve the problem. I have waxed, tweezed, shaved, and used hair removal creams. I read about epilators in a magazine, and I read the reviews on here to pick the best one. I read about it being extremely painful and causing ingrown hairs, but out of desperation, I gave it a shot anyway. I have been using the Epi Slim every other day for about two months. I almost never have to go back and tweeze missed hairs, and if you use the opposite side of the head, it can get even the shortest of them. The pain, in my opinion, is comparable to waxing or tweezing. It wasn't anything that would derail me from the incredible results I have seen with this product. I haven't had any problems with ingrown hairs either. I've been using OXY facial cleansing pads about a half an hour before I use the epilator, and a half an hour after I've used it and it makes a big difference with preventing skin irritation and it makes the tweezing hurt less. I actually feel like a normal woman again, and am no longer constantly picking at my face or worried about people seeing my five o clock shadow. If you have a facial hair problem, this product is so worth it. It is the best thing I have ever bought for myself and I will be sticking with this brand for years to come.

HELPS UPPER LIP HAIR GROWTH
First use I used it on my arms and upper lip. I had read the directions and reviews prior to use. It DOES hurt the first time with long hair. I find it's better with shaving first and waiting 2-3 days before using the epilator. The longer the hair, the more tugging you feel. I've been shaving my arms with a Norelco shaver for years so it's not like my skin was sensitive to shaving. The epilator is NOT pleasant on the arms first use. Now that I've used it about 10 times now....the discomfort is going down with the finer hairs. As for the upper lip, you have to be extremely careful not to hit your lip and cut it. I made the user error of circle around the side lip a little too long and it blistered the skin. Now I just circle around 3X and move on regardless if I see hair stubble or not. I've been using it for a month now (twice a week) and I see a difference. I've battled with dark hair on a fair skin all my life. I usually have to shave everyday before applying my makeup because my black stubble shows up in natural sunlight. using the epilator, I don't have to shave everyday anymore. I now only have to shave twice a week and my skin is baby soft in that area now. I feel more confident now because the hairs are pulled from the root. I wish I got this years ago. That's a HUGE deal for me. Though I'm not hairless yet, it's worth it not to have to shave every day. Just be very careful around the lip and circle 3X WITHOUT applying pressure to the skin. I also use the Emjoi After Creme to soothe the skin and stop hair growth as well.

Dolphin Smooth
Way back when I was just a child I found an epilator in my grandmas linen closet. I was certain that it must be a torture device. It was so scary looking. I never asked about it, or touched it for that matter, I just mentally noted the scary metal jaws that were just waiting to tear me to shreds. I am a much more mature adult now and unfortunately after two kids and creeping up on the door of menopause the peach fuzz on my chin and upper lip has become more robust and darker. Laser treatment/electrolysis is out of my price range. I grew weary of waxing, chemical hair removal, and plucking. OMG...what if I could pluck more than one hair at a time. Wouldn't that be amazing?! I started, on the down-low in my incognito window, researching facial hair removal. (Because of course my husband is blissfully unaware that women have body hair. Yeah right! However, I do still feel a stigma for female facial hair). Anyway, epilators kept popping up in my research. Back come the memories of the torture device in grandmas closet. I took a deep breath and purchased the most reasonably priced epilator with the best reviews. I didn't want to really invest in an item that I was sure was going to be buried in my own linen closet for my grandchildren to discover and have nightmares about. Boy was I wrong. This little guy is super effective! It's not pain-free but you do build up a certain tolerance for it. It removes hair efficiently. I'm left with smooth skin without chemical or wax irritation. It does miss a stray hair here and there but pair it with a good pair of tweezers and you'll be ready for your closeup. I do wish that it was rechargeable instead of battery operated. Maybe I'll look for that feature when this little guy meets his maker and I have to purchase a new one. PS...I have not been brave enough to venture below the face. I'll update if I do!

Works ok, the battery life seems good, but I won't be tossing my tweezers
After about six months of using a full sized epilator for my legs and under my arms, I thought I'd try a smaller one for my face. I have POS. While my symptoms of unwanted facial hair growth isn't in the "severe" category, it's definitely noticeable if I don't daily maintain it. I was hoping this epilator would speed up my routine AM and PM tweezing sessions, but it doesn't seem to be the case. I realize the epilator needs the hair to be of a certain length before it can work as designed, but even after shutting myself away for a weekend and allowing three days of growth, it seemed to be a bit too much for this epilator. It does fairly well on the peach fuzz, but I find myself using my tweezers just as long as I was before purchasing the epilator. I have to do many, many passes over the hair, even holding the skin as taunt as I dare it misses a lot. I wasn't expecting a miracle, I know that using an epilator with POS would not make the hair grow back thinner or lighter. I was just looking to speed up the process of plucking and possibly lower the amount of in-grown hairs. I'll keep using the epilator, though. It's good for touch-ups. My docking of two stars isn't because it didn't work well in my particular case. It doesn't come apart for cleaning and the included brush doesn't seem to work very well. I feel like it was worth the money but I probably will look elsewhere if I shop for another facial epilator.

Works great if you're careful. Totally worth the strong stinging sensation!
This was the first time I've experienced an epilator, although I have waxed and used tweezers for many years. I used it on my face (cheeks, chin, jaw, upper lip), and it worked great! I'm glad I got it. It left my skin completely free of hair. That said, it does hurt. Actually, it stings -- a lot! It didn't bother me, but I know people for whom it would be too much. The sensation is different from the pain of pulling off wax strips. I found this surprising because both methods pull the hair out by its root. It also left my skin a little red for three days. Right after I used it, the "apples" of my cheeks were pink, like flushed in a pretty way from hiking in hot weather or drinking half a glass of wine. For the next two days the redness was less, but was slightly mottled. The day after that, it was all gone. I believe my good results have to do with technique. I carefully followed the instructions that arrived with the unit. The instructions were clear. A couple of hours before I used the epilator, I washed my face with soap, then didn't put anything on it. When using the unit, I pulled my skin very taut, held the unit at a right angle to my face, and skimmed it over my skin being careful not to press it onto my skin. I think I got a little pink on the apples of my cheeks because they're more difficult to stretch taut and so maybe the tweezers touched my skin there a little. After I used the epilator, I very gently wiped my face with witch hazel. For the next two days I washed it gently with soap, and followed with witch hazel. I tried very hard not to touch my face where it was pink. Even if you keep your hands "clean", they have a lot of bacteria on them. I also cleaned the epilator as instructed.

Great product, works great!
I love it. I had another one for 10 years. Just wanted a new one. I used it all the time. Worked very well . You have to get use to it. At first it's a bit of a pinch. But you get addicted to it. Lol.

No funciona y es riesgosa
Deja muchos vellos, sólo los rompe y si tratas de quitarlos acercando las pinzas a la piel terminas quemandote como me pasó porque no se le puede disminuir la velocidad .
