Magic, with realistic expectations
I share an apartment with an elderly female Ragdoll mix that is really a dragon. She's sweet and terrifying, and with age she's lost some of her padding, and her bones are closer to the surface. Stiff bristles can hurt her, and more care needs to be taken during grooming not to tug on her coat and looser skin. As she's gotten older, she doesn't groom herself as thoroughly. It's become even more important that we stay on top of it, because when we don't, she'll get small mats in places. I'm so glad I decided to buy this brush. She will run over when she see's me holding it, and sit down, her back to me, and wait patiently. Reasons we love it: 1. Soft boar bristle brushes are great for distributing the natural oils produced by the skin throughout the coat. My cat's coat is shinier, and appears more full. She also gets a little dander at the base of her tail because, as she's gotten older, spots like this have become harder to reach. Since using this brush, this condition has improved a good deal. I'm guessing it in part has to do with the redistributed natural oils moisturizing the skin. 2. She likes it so much, it's not just maintenance she'll put up with awhile, and then escape from. I feel like we're not just grooming now, we're bonding. Someone else described it as a massage for cats, but my old dragon regresses and acts kittenish. 3. The soft bristles don't seem to hurt her when used around her bony or tender spots. I have a steel comb we've used for years. I find that when I alternate this brush with the comb, she's more amenable to being fussed over, and our grooming sessions are longer and more productive. 4. Soft boar bristle brushes aren't really supposed to strip dead hair from the undercoat, so don't expect that when you see "Deshedding Tool." We still get results though. In addition to the gains and improvements mentioned above, we do get respectable clumps of hair for the bin during a session. Cleaning is pretty easy. I use the wide bristles of my steel comb to lift hair up and out of the brush bristles. 5. This seems to be well made. The wood handle is nicer in my opinion than plastic alternatives. I also feel like the boar bristles reduce the static that nylon bristles would cause. Fair price for the quality I received. Verdict: It's been tested on two different cats, one adult with short hair, and one senior with long, and they both LOVE it. Can't recommend it enough for anyone. Use it with kittens or adoptees that need to get used to being groomed. Use it with seniors or convalescing cats that need the softness. You really can't go wrong.

Gentle and soft. VERY HIGH QUALITY
So many car brushes are rough, and ultimately kinda torturous for Kitty. This is one is soft and gentle. It will not work through giant knots, for that you need a comb. But my short-haired cat adores it. It polishes her and rids her of impending tangles with compassionate ease. Quality is superb. Thick, heavy wood handle. Excellent quality bristles.

Doesn't remove much hair but skittish cat adores the massage and went nuts for it!
Well the shy cat voted 5 stars! She sniffed it to the high heavens and then immediately rubbed her face on it like she knew it was going to feel good. She normally runs away after a bit, but did not want to leave this brush behind and kept wiggling around to get the best angles. This is the best brush for the face that I've found, since it is gentle and can be held so that it passes smoothly between the ears, and even over the eye area. She especially loved the cheeks, which I normally can't get at properly with our comb. I don't think it picks up as much hair as other brushes and combs since the bristles are very soft, and it is impossible to clean out all the hair from the bristles. But if you want to give your cat a real treat, give it a try!

Highly Recommended
Weโve tried multiple brushes for our cats. Flat plastic ones that looked like a tongue. They hated it. Then there was the comb. Nope. There was another one I canโt even remember the details on. Absolutely not. Not only did they not like them, the brushes didnโt see to brush any hairs out. Then I saw this brush and decided it was different enough from the others Iโd give it a shot. It was a hit! Both cats enjoy it. Instead of squirming off they relax into being brushed. The brush gently removes the excess hair and provides a comfy cat massage. You can see in the video how comfy kitty is. The brush is sturdy and well-made. I anticipate using it for a long time.

Best Soft Bristled Brush for Cats
I bought this brush to use on a cat I had trapped, intending to TNR, that had some skin funk (miliary dermatitis), that was too friendly, and living in too bad of a place to re-release. The bristles are soft enough that they did not hurt or irritate his broken skin, but firm enough to remove shedding fur and also gently exfoliate the older scabs and dead skin. This worked much better than the soft, plastic bristled cat brush I already owned. The cat loved being brushed with this and our brushing sessions also became bonding sessions. After using this for a few days on him, his fur started becoming soft and shiny. After a week, some of his dermatitis had subsided, allowing new fur to begin growing. The brush held up well to gentle sanitation, being sprayed with Rescue Disinfectant (which is another 5 star product), rinsed with water, and allowed to dry. Now I use the brush for my own cats who love it as well. This brush works best on short haired cats to help with shedding and makes longer haired cats' fur gleam and shine. I would recommend this brush to anyone looking for a tool to make their cat's fur soft and shiny or looking for a way to gently exfoliate their cat's skin. This is not the right tool for removing knots or mats.

Well made, soothing to my cat; but so so on the hair collecting
I have a short hair tuxedo cat with silky hair. While she definitely likes the brush itself (she actually wanted to play with it), it doesn't get all that much hair off of her. The general wire pet brush does better for hair removal. But it does seem be calming to use on her, so for that reason I don't regret getting it.

Amazing light daily brush our cats love + association to more aggressive brushes
I have four cats, two long haired and two short haired. They all love this brush and get so excited when I bring it out. We used the associated feelings towards this brush to get all our cats accustomed to their more aggressive undercoat brushes and deshedders. It took some time but now all our cats will let us brush them daily for 15+ minutes. It's a more delicate brush that is better used as part of a daily maintenance routine rather than an shedding-season-get-down and-dirty. Definitely add it into the routine but get proper undercoat brushes as well!

My cat loves it!
My cat had a bristle brush, but it was too stiff, so I was worried that it might hurt him. This one is much softer, and both my cat and I love it! ๐ป It was smaller than I expected, but actually I like it this way. It fits perfectly in my hand and is very easy to use. ๐

My cats love this brush
I got this brush to use with a slicker brush - itโs not going to remove a tonne of excess hair, or get through knots, but it does pick up a surprising amount of fur and my cats who normally donโt like getting brushed absolutely love the feeling. I tap this brush and my ragdoll comes running (who was the most anti-grooming). He still tries to bite it, but will patiently let me brush until my arm gets sore while he kneads. Their coats feel so soft and smooth afterwards, this is a great brush to use in addition to whatever you use for shedding

Not really good at brushing knots but cat likes it
It isnโt effective at brushing any knots out although my cat likes to be brushed with it.

I was so surprised by this brush
I really wasn't sure about this brush when I first ordered it but after using it the first time I knew my cat loved it. She's never really had issues with matting but gets hairballs often. She hates slicker brushes and won't sit still for a de-shedding brush so it becomes a real chores to deal with her. However with this brush, she loves it and seems to find the brushings very relaxing. The wood handle has a good finish on it and the bristles are all uniform and secure. I can see this brush lasting a long time. Definitely worth the price.

Great brush for short hair cat
I got this brush for my short hair cat. We both love the brush, it helps bond is together in the evening. The bristles are very soft so if you have a long hair cat this brush will not do.

Great brush
It was on a top 10 brush list so I thought I'd try it. Our cats love it and it feels like it's good quality. It's a nice treat after the real grooming brush (though our cats like getting brushed). Only issue is it must carry a good, strong smell bc it still takes a couple minutes to get reacquainted (aka sniff like crazy and get some chews in).
