Great value for the money, good for kids
We bought these for my 2.5 year old so he doesn't feel left out when we go birding. He hasn't quite figured them out yet, and they're a little big for his face, but very easy for him to carry. He was a little disappointed they didn't have a neck strap like mom and dad, but the wrist strap is probably safer for him anyway. I looked through them, and for the size and price I was really impressed with how well they work. Tons better than what I've seen in "kids binoculars," and I think they're going to hold up a lot better, too. For about twice the price, they are more than twice as good. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a decent, inexpensive "starter" pair of binoculars. My fancy Nikons are still going to be my go-to for regular birding, but these were a great fit for our family.

Perfect for short range field use!
I bought these for under viewing at objects less than 200 yards distance, and I needed a 7x or 8x magnification. These work well for that. Anything over 8X magnification in a binocular starts to shake too much unless braced on a tree, rock, or other solid object. The glass is very good, not excellent, but more than acceptable for the intended use. The hard rubber casing seems well designed and manufactured, and I like the ergonomics. I suspect these will hold up under field use just fine. At the reasonable price I paid, I'll buy a few extras as backups and for other uses. I have much more expensive and larger binoculars that I would rate as excellent and these fall right behind those in glass clarity. Good buy.

Worked well.
I had cataracts and my vision was getting bad.I got these binoculars to help me see the menu on my cable box, they helped me for quite some time until the cataracts go so bad I couldn’t see. Now the cataracts are fixed and I need glasses, I am still using the binoculars from time to time until I get my prescription glasses.

Maybe good for kids or as first binocular for a smaller person.
I found them kinda "toylike"but useable. Quality is good. You don't want to start someone out with the best/ brightest/most powerful etc. as they will never learn to appreciate what they have.

Product is light weight and a value for the money

Very Lightweight
Can't tell the difference in image quality from a $150 pair of Nikon roof prism binoculars, while weighing significantly less, and have a small great compact size. Would highly recommend these, unbelievable for the price

Own your very own MANTA RAY lol (More of a Hammer Head though?)
But seriously do buy one of these if you have the dosh as it's just brilliant. If a binocular can be cute then this one is super cute in a lovely gloss grey finish (it looks blue in the pics, maybe camera flash?) with subtle dashes of chrome. It feels lovely to hold and I have fairly large male hands. It's about 15cm wide and 11cm tall eyecups up. I couldn't find the actual correct dimensions online so I had no idea really what to expect but this is a nice size and it feels very light weight so no inconvenience to wear at all. It's about the smallest size to be very comfortably usable and it is easy to use. Easy eye placement, easy accurate focusing.Would be really wonderful for kids (or anyone) looking for their first "serious-ish" binocular. I say serious because I have a lot of binoculars and have owned many more and most of the big brand names and so I do expect and require a decent view with a binocular and this passes quite easily in fact I'm impressed when out and using it. I'm not kidding when I say that it is so clear on a clear day that it actually reminds me of very expensive Swarovski & Zeiss bins that I have owned in the past so that's really impressive for a sub £100 bin.First thing I noticed is the resolution. It outdoes a more expensive 10x25 roof prism folding binocular that I have so immediately this confirms to me that this binocular scores very highly for resolution and contrast. It also has very little distortion and great 3D depth of field so very little or no focusing needed from mid range to infinity. It seems to close focus down to a few meters also so that can be useful also.A week ago I bought the Carson Falconer 7x20 (since bought a 2nd and also a 2nd of this Falconer) and so impressed was I with that that I thought to try this Manta as it also listed that it has Bak 4 prisms and is fully multi coated as per the Falconer and I loved the Falconer colour, contrast & brightness very much so I was hoping this Manta Ray would be similar and it certainly is. Now I can't decide which I prefer more, the Falconer or this Manta Ray but I'm glad to have this particular difficulty. ( I couldn't decide in the end so I bought two of each!)I'm definitely a fan of these Carson bins now as you can probably tell. I also own the little Carson Mini Scout 7x18 but this Manta Ray and the Falconer are quite a step up in quality/performance/build and I'm really glad that I discovered both of these though I still like the very small Mini Scout. I have some good larger bins (not Carson perhaps now unfortunately) so it was more compacts I was looking for and these two models to me are superb for sub £100 bins.I love having a Manta Ray and I hope this review has been helpful as there doesn't seem to be much review info online about them currently. The Falconer takes up about half as much space and has a larger seeming view and better close focus. The Manta has more magnification & resolution, less distortion and easier eye-placement (but the Falconer is good also) and more 3D view and slightly better lower light performance. They are both superb to me so I am one extremely happy customer as I think you can probably tell. Well done Carson in making such nice affordable products that are actually pretty great. I wish I would have had these two bins long ago and it could have saved me a fortune. So yes I very much recommend these Carson Manta Ray (and the Falconer). Have a great view.Edit: Out with them today. Can suffer glare the view in low sun conditions & the focus is anticlockwise to infinity when all my other bins are clockwise so this was a bit of a pain but I'm used to it now.

Light weight, fabulous at this price point
You take a punt buying optics without trying them, but I am delighted I did so with these. On dog walks I sometimes see interesting birds, but can't be bothered to carry my full size 10x50 binos. So I needed some that were small and light enough to slip into a pocket, and always be there when I needed them. What's good?Image quality is better than I had hoped. Bright, too, considering the lens sizes.Crisp focus right across the field of view. They really are lightSeem robustly made (had them for a few weeks now and they are still perfect, no slack in the adjustments)Easy to use focus wheelIncredible price for the qualityNearest focus distance is quite close, so you can even use them for that close-up subjectWhat's not so good?Narrow-ish field of vision, and do not amplify low light... but that's physics rather than anything to do with this model. These are both trade-offs for this category of binos so if those are vital for you, you need something with a bigger objective lens.Overall - I am delighted with these. The image is better than I had expected, the size and weight is smaller/lower than I had expected. If I lost them, I'd replace them with exactly the same model tomorrow.
