When Donald decides to let his nephews pick their own Christmas present they choose โ a Ferris Wheel! Only Uncle Scrooge can pay for a Ferris Wheel, but that heโll only do it if Donald goes to Canada to pick up a 100-foot Christmas tree for the town square. Great as always but...
It was delivered with indentention in the hard cover due to no protection other than the cardboard envelope, not even some paper.

The Fantagraphics Disney hardcovers are fantastic!
Quality paper, beautiful prints and sturdy binding โ just how these classics should be captured.

An amazing and important reprint
I've noticed that when people buy a series, they don't leave reviews of individual volumes. I kind of understand why, because if you're buying every volume, you're probably intent on collecting them all, not singling out and praising individual tomes. However, one effect of that is that when an amazing reprint series comes out, it seems to be somewhat ignored. I just wanted to weigh in here and say how much I appreciate Fantagraphics going to all of the trouble to re-issue these amazingly clean and beautiful volumes of Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge. The stories are great, the books look amazing, and they are a wonderful, ongoing source of pleasure. It's really great that someone sat down and decided to do the job both well and completely.I recommend these books fully for anyone, but most particularly for families with young children. "Christmas in Duckburg" is as good as any of them -- I don't know how to recommend which one you start with. If you like fantasy, adventure, wit, absurdity, or mania, Barks has something for you.

Carl Barks - Fantagraphic books - Fantastic
It's Carl Barks - the poorly named "good duck artist" - he should have been known as the "great duck artist". Lots of great stories - many of which I had never read previously despite having about 1,000 duck comic books.Great art, witty writing - Carl Barks is one of the reasons why I wanted to be - and am - a writer. The analysis of each story by various contributors is always amusing - it's critical writing examining the three or four levels of hidden meaning in things, when in reality there's only one or two levels of hidden meaning.I do wish that Fantagraphics had added a very visible numbering system for all of these volumes (it's hidden in the indicia). Good price for high quality publishing.
