Great little device!
I have had the body media armband for about 2 years. I never really used it due to the fact you didn't know what you were burning until you downloaded the armband to your computer. The display is $60 dotfit.com and I couldn't fathom paying that....2 years later in a mad dash to lose some weight before my cruise I decided to try the armband again. After seeing the display was only $30 on amazon I had to give it a try. It couldn't be easier to set up! It comes with a battery and all you have to do is hit one button on the display, hit the button on your armband and WA-LAH! You are linked. It is incredibly motivating to see what you are burning throughout the day. It gives you a little push to get moving when you see you aren't burning as many calories as expected. It also keeps your eating in check when you have real-time calories in your face.I have lost 6lbs in a month! 3 more to go to my goal!

DO NOT GET THIS!!! WASTE OF MONEY!!!
1. How to use this.It should be simple, you get your arm band on and with a combination of buttons it should syncand start displaying data. WELL IT DOES NOT!!! It does connect for about 5min and then disconnect andget it to connect again is nearly IMPOSSIBLE!!!I had faith in the product so I though the first a got was defective and returned, I got the new one, try it whenI went for a 5k run just to notice that the only data sync were the first 5min of my warm up.I know what you are thinking. YES the arm band collected the data and so did my polar that how I know is accurate.2. The arm band is great but you are better of with a heart rate monitor that shows calories burn ifyou are like me and can't wait to get to the computer. Even the Nike+ that I also use is awesome (for running) notso good for biking.3. All and All is a very bad product and it is sad because the arm band is a pretty cool gadget.

I'm not sure you need this
I purchased the bodymediafit armband with this display. I used it for five days before returning it- here are my observations..1) You can only track so many things. Calories, amount of moderate/strenuous activity, goals.2) You can't really clip it anywhere convenient3) It is water resistant, but the armband is not (why?)4) You can not enter anything on the display, which somehow I had convinced myself I would be able to. I know it's my fault that I convinced myself of that, but just in case you are of a similar mind, you cannot.5) It beeps. For everything. Turn on the light? Loud beep. How many calories did I burn? Loud Beep. Reset my trip? Loud beep. It's obnoxious, and from reading the manual- I could not tell how turn it off.6) It rarely ever stays synced.I decided I really didn't need this. I'm never particularly far from a computer, and I can definitely wait to see how much I've burned. It's 70$ to satisfy immediate curiosity, and it's a very inconvenient tool. Unless I was wearing a particularly thin shirt, I couldn't clip it anywhere but on the armband, which made the armband kind of fuzzy upon removal (slight tearing of the fibers). The noise bothered me- excitedly the first night, I rolled over to see how many calories I had, had to turn on the light (loud beep) sync it (Loud Beep) and then to check calories (Loud Beep) and then my husband woke up and I realized it wasn't really worth the money for me.I didn't like how it always was out of sync, and how I needed to put it really close to the armband and then sync it... then try and get the tiny clasp to pinch my clothing in a near enough spot so that it stayed synced.I wanted to like this item, but as far as luxury items goes, it's kind of inconvenient. Perhaps if it didn't make as much noise, perhaps if it came with a wristband I would be more inclined to give this more stars- but as is... a solid 3.

Great in concept, bad in delivery
I was really excited about my display until I used it a week. I found several issues with the display and would not recommend the product at this time. I would hold off until the next revision if there is one.Pros:-Track real time your calorie burn, steps including daily and trip totals, without syncing the arm band to the computer. Great concept.Cons:-Does not stay in sync.-Does not come with watchband and I can't find a place to clip it that it stays in sync and easy to see. (BodyMedia told me all purchases of this display should come with the watch band).I could not find a watchband anywhere to buy separate and found the clip more trouble than it's worth.-Not very accurate. The calories per minute on the display do not match the calories per minute when synced to the computer (looking at the exact same time frame).-It beeps when you press any button and when you hit targets throughout the day. I could not find a way to turn off the beeping and they are loud beeps (disruptive and annoying). Even turning on the light beeps.I gave it two stars because it is a great concept. I like the idea, but not the product and certainly not for $80. Had I spent $10, I would have gotten what I paid for. I find the clip useless and since it will not stay synced no matter where I place it (waistband, sleeve, even on the arm band). I'm returning it.
