These combination fire and carbon monoxide detercors from Kidde are rated as some of the best buys from Consumer Rerpots for home fire precention equipment that are battery powered.Each of the detectors in this package was easy to mount, came with mounting screws , and were accompanied by 2 AA batteries from the manufacturer.Each of these detectors detects fire via an ion detector, and will warn users of afire or carbon monoxide leak via warning beeps and spoken warning (indicating whether the emergency is fie or carbon monoxide.)The alarms are mounted via a ring that is screwed to a surface, and are easily removable or secured via a slight roration of the alarm into or out of the docking circle.The detectors have face mounted battery doors, making it relatively easy to change the batteries, whether or not one choses tor emove the alaarm from the docking collar.Alarms are sounded at about 85dB, and seem up to the task.The alarms were sent in a minimum of packaging, with one alarms, set of batteries, and set of mounting equipment per each pastic bag.

Our Kidde alarms all started to die, turns out they were 8 years old. We called Kidde to see what version would fit the same base as they're screwed into the ceiling. Kidde said to order this model and it all worked - put in the batteries and they clicked right into place, everything working so we're good for another 8+ years.

I had Kidde smoke detectors already installed but they expired, so I replaced them with these. The nice thing was that these Kidde smoke detectors fit on the mounting brackets of my old Kidde smoke detectors, so all I had to do was put them on the old brackets. I like how these have the battery compartment up front. I'll probably buy Kidde again in 10 years and I hope I can still use my old mounting brackets.

If you really want to stay above the rest in the Airbnb business you have to install the best kind of system out there instead of just a regular smoke detector. The dual system gives everybody a good peace of mind whether it’s smoke or carbon monoxide. I put them in every one of the bedrooms and a hallway’s and close to the propane stove and gas dryer and water heater.

I can't speak for battery life but I am relieved to have these up and even we, the klutzes of DIY, could get these up. We bought a 3-pack at a price much lower than I could find in store, and I feel like I bought peace of mind.
