They earbuds in different sizes and the sound is very good. I was also surprised by how good the microphone conveys voice to my wife's phone. I've worn them with my mp3 player, my phone with no complaints. You do sometimes need to jiggle one side or the other in your ear in order to get the balance right, but that's not been a problem for me. My only regret, and it's not important, is my Rosetta Stone course does not hear what I say into the microphone. I've bought a separate wireless headphone with an actual extended mic for that though.
