5 Starts after firmware update
When i first purchased this item is ran very HOT all the time. Scary hot without a fan blowing on it. I updated the firmware for this product and it now runs cooler. It will still get warm but not HOT.My laptop stopped freezing up when it is connected with the new firmware. If you are having this issue contact support for the manufacturer. Tell them you are running hot and you need the firmware update. If you are reckless and know what you are doing. You can do it the same way I did. I upgraded my firmware for the Cable Matters 10GBE thunderbolt 3 , which shows as "Aquantia AQtion 10Gbit Network Adapter" from 3.0.33 to 3.1.109 using "MarvellFlashUpdate_1.5.0_3.1.109" .I guarantee nothing use at your own risk. Do your own research. I got lucky with my specific piece of hardware you might not. This firmware updater has a rollback feature but I have not tested it. Didn't need to.

It's fast... 10,000Mbps!
Works with no issues. Use with my USB-C MacBook Pro. No config required. Plug it into the machine, the other end into a 10Gb port, and you're moving bits, quick! It is a bit large and heavy, so say nothing of pricy compared to 1Gb, but that's to be expected. Prices will comes down and size will shrink with time. Thanks Mr. Moore.

Sturdy little device
Good quality and quite sturdy. Too bad I can't really test it to the limit, as I do not have any other computer that does 10G for me to do iperf with. However, I was able to achieve 3Gbps transmission rate when transferring files to Synology over 4 1Gb bundled links. Caution, this little thing runs quite warm even when not under heavy load. Another issue that I'm still trying to figure out whether it's the driver or my network setting, is that when use "as is", new sessions, be it website or SMB, takes a bit to initiate. For example, when loading a page, it would take like 5 seconds to load. Then it'd be good for a while until the device goes idle then it repeats. Also when trying to perform speed test on speedtest.net or DSL report, when run "as is", would have trouble doing speed test on the upload, and would receive error stating some ports are being blocked? However, when use with load-balancing software like "Turbo LAN", all these issues would disappear. I give it 4 stars for build quality and does as advertised, removed 1 star for issues I've been experiencing but then again, not sure whether if it's the device driver or something else...

Easy Setup & Super Fast
I've gone through two different vendors prior to buying the "cable matters". They all indicated they were Thunderbolt 3 compliant, but I could never get them working. As soon as I plugged this one into the T3 port, I got lights and my Thunderbolt software recognized it. I'm using a dell precision 5530 with a TB16 port replicator.

Ahead of the world
It’s a great product, but world might be not ready for it yet. Originally I wrote a review complaining that my MacBook Pro M1 was crushing (turning off and restarting) every time I used this product full speed for longer that 2-3 minutes. But OS update resolved the issue eventually. So it seems like Apple’s fault. Latest HP EliteBook was doing full speed download, but only 6Gbps upload and I couldn’t figure it out why. So it doesn’t seem like an issue with product, but rather support from laptop vendors. I’d say this product is ahead of its time.

Good option for 10gbe upgrade
Worked perfectly. Saw my transfer speeds double.

Works exactly as expected
Works well but gets very hot overtime. I kind of wish it had a fan to push the heat out. Comes with a thunderbolt 3 cable.
