The threads on the petals look too delicate to me. If you zoom in on the photos, you can kind of see that there is a sewn line down the center of each petal. From those lines, there are threads going out to the sewn edges of each petal. But, those threads are only connected to a thin, mesh like backing to the whole applique. They seem pretty flimsy, but they are fine for the use I had for them. I hot glued magnets on the backs of the 2 largest sizes to use them for ladies in my charity group to wear on their blouses.
