Worth the care you have to take
It's been just over a week and I have been using this pan every morning for breakfast. So far, it's pretty impressive. I do have some general ideas about non-stick pans in this price range: I don't expect them to last for years and years (even with the best care); I know I have to baby them a bit; I know that I cannot cook with them at very high heat. PROS: -- Right out of the packaging, the pan looks nice and sturdy. -- It seems to be a bit tougher than other nonstick pans when it comes to using and cleaning. -- It does heat up quickly. -- I was able to make good pancakes in it & my scrambled eggs just slid right out! (By the way, I noticed that the only pancakes that stuck a bit were made with batter higher in sugar content or when I hadn't cleaned the pan well.) -- I don't have the "hot handle" problem I see mentioned in other reviews. I do use the pan on a burner a tiny bit smaller than the bottom of the pan & I think that helps. -- Cleaning it is easy. All I have to do is let the pan cool first. When I am cooking something like pancakes, I can remove stray batter with a silicone spatula. I use a little soap and hot water to get all the residue out. CONS: I was immediately confused by the instructions. The front of the cardboard covers says this is safe for ovens & is "high heat resistant", but elsewhere, it's advised to use low-to-medium heat. This is why I hate the packaging. All the info is on the cardboard that the pan in tucked into. I like to save product info so this is inconvenient. -- Like with most non-stick pans, there are restrictions - ex: no EVOO; and don't heat when empty, etc. Some of these are worse than others. For instance, when fixing anything with a batter (ex: pancakes), I like to heat a pan fairly well before pouring in the batter. However, this pan heats up fast so I can pour in batter without much pre-heating. -- I don't think I will be using this to do any oil-frying because I don't want to use high heat. Also, I won't be large amounts of liquids (water) since it would be easy to let it boil to dry & damage the coating. -- Some of the things hyped about this are not really good for the pans. Says you can use metal utensils but that really isn't advised. The same thing goes for being dishwasher safe. To make the pan last as long as possible, I handwash/dry & keep a soft cloth in the pan when it's stored. Anything to keep from damaging the non-stick surface! -- Although I have a regular gas stove, the instructions for induction cooktops are pretty extensive & I don't know that I would want the extra work. -- For the best info on using, cleaning, and storing this pan, I had to go online. I wish they'd included a paper printout of info instead of my having to try to read that cardboard packaging. Overall, I don't mind the negatives too much because I know to be careful of ALL my nonstick pans. The one negative that bugs me the most is the "don't heat when empty" rule. I do like the pan a lot right now. If it lasts me a few years, I will be happy with it. I do have cheaper pans that are just as good. This one is a really good value though. Basically, the things that make a non-stick pan so good also mean there are drawbacks. This pan proves you don't have to spend a fortune on a decent piece of non-stick cookware.

Superior Performance ā The Best Pans Iāve Ever Owned.
I didnāt realize how much I was struggling with my kitchen routine until I finally retired my old, worn-out frying pans. Switching to this Blue Diamond Skillet Set has been an absolute pleasure. After using them for a variety of meals, I can say these are by far the best pans I have ever used. They have made cooking fun again. Excellent Nonstick Properties The diamond-infused coating on these pans is impressive. Hereās what stands out in daily use: Effortless Release: From delicate eggs to seared meats, everything slides right out of the pan. Iāve been able to reduce the amount of oil and butter I use without worrying about a mess. Fast Cleanup: Because nothing sticks to the surface, I no longer have to spend time scrubbing or soaking pans in the sink. A quick wipe with a soapy sponge and they look brand new again. Peace of Mind: Knowing that these are PFAS and PTFE-free is a major plus. Itās great to have professional-level performance without worrying about harmful chemicals. Quality and Versatility The 9.5-inch and 11-inch sizes are the perfect duo for a functional kitchen. The smaller pan is my go-to for omelets, while the larger skillet handles dinner for the whole family with ease. They heat up very quickly and distribute that heat evenly, which has improved the consistency of my cooking. Final Verdict If you are overdue for an upgrade, this set is an incredible investment for your kitchen. The pans feel sturdy yet lightweight enough for easy flipping, and the nonstick coating is top-of-the-line. They have turned a daily chore into a highlight of my day. Pros: Exceptional Nonstick Surface: Lives up to the "Diamond Infused" claims. Healthy Cooking: Free of toxic chemicals like PFAS and PTFE. Even Heat Distribution: No hot spots or uneven cooked food. Durable Feel: High-quality construction that feels built to last. Cons: To keep the coating in perfect condition, it is best to stick with nylon or wood utensils and avoid the dishwasher, even if they are labeled as dishwasher safe.

Great pans. Def cook low to medium heat only
These are great long lasting pans both if you read the instructions or not. I learned lessons from my first 10 inch skillet that I didn't read the instructions and cooked too high of a heat and scorched it. The pan still worked but never regained initial finish. This is my second new 8 inch and I cooked on low to medium with some eggs and they came out perfect and even slid out of the pan no issue. A great pan if you're on a budget or just don't care about fancy pans

A cooking dream, but mine was apparently defective
I wanted some nice pans that would make cooking easier so I bought a set of ceramic pans, but wanted a larger pan too so I purchased this 12 inch one. I would rather it came with a glass lid, but since it didnāt I purchased that as well. Cooking on these ceramic pans is like a dream come true with nothing sticking and easy cleanup. Food slides around so easily that I can flip things like a professional chef. Somehow, breakfast tastes better when cooking in these pans. Perhaps because Iām not having to scrap it off the bottom of the pan. However... Upon receiving the pan(s) the first thing I did was season it along with my full set. It then went into the cupboard. Each pan with itās own lid. It sat in there for a month. Although I have used all the pans in the full set I purchased, I have never used this particular pan, but please keep reading. My rules for my pans are: ⢠Do not go above medium heat ⢠Silicone and wooden utensils only ⢠Hand wash only with sponge ā no scouring pads - not even plastic ones ⢠Let pans cool before washing ⢠No nesting the pans ⢠Season pans once a month I season by coating the pan with oil. Place it in a 300 degree oven for two minutes. Let the pan cool and wipe out the remaining oil. I feel the little bit of time this task takes was well worth it to keep the pans non stick ceramic coating from degrading. I went so far as to post a notice on the exhaust fan above the stove listing the rules for family members. Imagine my dismay when I went to season my pans for the second time only to find a chip in the ceramic coating and gouges along the rim of this pan ā even though the pan has just been sitting in the cupboard with the lid sitting on top of it. Is it possible that the lid caused the gouges? Hard to believe the pan could be so easily susceptible to damage, but there is no way the lid can cause the chip in the ceramic coating as the lid canāt touch that spot. Note that there is PLENTY of room in this cupboard so the pans are not packed in there stacked on top of each other. Is this pan really so vulnerable that it becomes damaged just sitting in the cupboard? Iāve examined my other ceramic pans and have found no damage so Iām hoping I simply received a defective 12 inch pan and have arranged to receive a replacement. Not wanting to risk potential damage on the rim of the new pan, I have also ordered a new lid with a silicone rim. It will protect the rim of the pan. This should be unnecessary as the pan should be able to tolerate putting a lid on it without causing damage. Chips in the ceramic coating is another story. Weāll see what happens. Putting aside my negative experience with this particular pan, they are all great to cook with. The only issue might be the handle. Itās metal, but itās hollow. This allows heat to travel up the handle more quickly than a solid handle. I havenāt had any problems with the handle getting too hot as others have had, but I do notice that the closer the handle is to the pan then the hotter it is. Sure, thatās normal, but this gets hotter quicker. As I said, I have not yet hat an issue with the handle getting to hot to handle, but as a precaution I also purchased silicone handle holders that are used like pot holders. So far Iāve only used them when removing the pan from the oven after seasoning. I recommend the silicone handle holders ā whatever style fits your fancy ā as they provide a better, safer and less awkward grip than cloth pot holders. I love this (these) pans and am so disappointed that this one turned out not to be very durable, but hopefully the replacement will fair better.

The perfect nonstick pan!
We love Blue Diamond! Dishwasher safe, super durable, super easy to clean by hand if you need to, nothing ever gets stuck on, it's even oven safe! We've had these for years and they're only just beginning to show signs of wear. They'll last us many more year to come, and when the time comes, we WILL replace them with these same amazing pans from the Blue Diamond brand! Easy 5 star!

A great starter ceramic pan that gets it done
š§® Fit for Use ā Who it works for This pan is a very good value if you want a capable non-stick skillet at a budget price, especially if you: Cook on a gas or electric cooktop (not induction) Want convenience (easy cleanup, decent non-stick performance) Donāt need ultra-heavy duty or professional-grade longevity Are okay with replacing a non-stick pan after a few years rather than expecting decades of use It might be less ideal if you: Use an induction stove Rely heavily on non-stick performance through heavy use (e.g., daily high-heat searing, metal utensils, etc) Prefer premium cookware that lasts 10+ years with near-no degradation šÆ Verdict For the money, the Blue Diamond 10ā³ fry pan is a smart pick ā especially for everyday cooking, moderate budgets, and folks who want a non-stick pan thatās free of some of the āolder-styleā coatings. If I were to give it a quick score: Value: 8/10 Non-stick performance (initially): 7.5/10 Longevity/durability: 6.5-7/10 Overall: ~7.5/10 In short: if you treat it well (use medium heat, avoid induction unless version supports it, hand-wash if possible, avoid aggressive metal utensils), youāll likely be pleased. If you expect ultra-long life or āprofessional chef gradeā non-stick, you may eventually outgrow it.

Doesn't Quite Live-Up to the Hype
I've been using this pan for about six months. I like its versatility and, as pans go, it's good looking. I was amazed by its non-stick qualities and ease of cleaning. As time went by, it became less non-stick and not so easy to clean. I don't put it in the dishwasher, use high burner temperatures, or use metal utensils with it to protect its surface. I read it can be re-seasoned by rubbing it with oil and baking it in a 350 degree oven for one hour. I tried that and it seemed to do the trick, but, after a couple of uses, it started sticking again. I won't say I'd never buy it again because, overall, it's fine, but it's not living up to its promise.
