Lisle54300 Swivel Grip Oil Filter Wrench for Caterpillar Engines

Wouldn't fit around my Dodge Caliber's oil filter without throwing some cut rubber hose in to fill the space. This was just too big for the smaller filter.That is the only negative I have, though. The swivel handle was awesome in the tight space, and the thing performed perfectly other than being too big for my particular filter. I could see this having gripping issues (had I not needed the rubber tubing anyway) but I will take that problem over the rubber strap wrenches that break after 1 or 2 uses.It would be nicer if it had a size adjustment of some sort, but the simple design keeps this affordable, durable, and easy to use. This fits my F150's filter, so I guess I will have to find a smaller version of this for my Caliber.I recommend this for bigger filters.

I have a 3" water separator filter on my fishing boat - thanks to ethanol... The location of the filter made a cup wrench impossible. A strap wrench just slid. I had trouble finding a metal band wrench of this size in auto parts and big box stores. This one said it was for 2-7/8 to 3-1/4 and it worked great. Seems to be of very good quality. I would buy it again.

Handle broke the third time I used it. Not as good quality as Lisle used to be.

Life saver for those modern day tight engine bays where space is premium. The material of the handle ensures a non slip grip. Handle also can be used in different angles, lifesaver. THe inner diameter of the oil filter stainless steel band has a rough texture every 30 degrees to grab the slippery oil filter.Purchase a few, great products like this don't last and become duplicated but never replicated. While writing this I am purchasing more as back ups.

I am a diesel mechanic and own 6 different sizes of these Lisle filter wrenches. This one specifically works well for the 1R-1808 CAT oil filters and other filters with a similar diameter. My only complaint is, out of all the Lisle filter wrenches I have, this is the only one that has an issue with the rubber grip sliding off constantly. This could obviously be remedied with a dab of super glue, but is strange that it is the only one with this problem.

Im known by myself as someone who tightens everything tighter than you should and this made easy work of removing said overly tightened oil filter that I would normally struggle with.

It’s alright my only gripe is the grip slips.

Dodge trucks have a "regular" transmission filter and a second spin-on filter like your engine oil filter but much smaller. Since this spin-on filter sets in the transmission fluid, you're not going to be able to remove it by hand so you either use a screwdriver to puncture it and spin it off (more mess) of get a proper filter wrench. Knowing this from my last Dodge truck, I got this before I set to creating my transmission mess. The fit was great and the adjustable handle makes it much easier to get into those tight spots. It made the job a lot easier and I highly recommend this product.

I eventually got the oil filter off my lawn tractor but it was a struggle. The wrench had a hard time gripping the filter so I eventually had to remove some other parts from the tractor so that I could get enough room to use my other hand to hold the strap while I turned/tightened with the handle. I think the wrench could use slightly more aggressive teeth on the strap.

Product details said it would fit my vehicle. It did not fit at all. Fits larger vehicles.

Couldn't get my oil filter off my bike until I got this, was bigger than expected though and I had to add padding. I wish it was able to tighten smaller as well.

Takes my large filters off no problem..ie air dryer and Cat oil filter...rubber handle slips a bit but it does the job.
