LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts 4867 (Discontinued by manufacturer)

We purchased this for my daughters birthday. She is a huge Harry Potter fan and when we discovered that they stopped making the Harry Potter series we looked all over for one of the Hogwarts castles. Luckily we found one of the last ones left here on Amazon. The shipping was incredibly fast and we had it in time for our daughters birthday.The castle itself had all of the pieces and went together pretty quickly. Some of it might be a little complex for younger children. However, with some parental help it went together perfectly.As with most Lego products it looks awesome and the kids play with it on a daily basis. We are bummed that Lego decided to stop production on the Harry Potter series. However, we are still glad we were able to pick this one up before they ran out.

We bought this Lego set at Christmas at my 10-year old grandaughter's request. By noon on Christmas day, she had it assembled and was experimenting with different ways to configure the castle. The only drawback was that the dog really liked the small figures so we had to keep a close watch---for the safety of both the figures and the dog. My grandaughter wants an additional Harry Potter set to link up with this one. As a side note, the day before Chrismas, my two grandaughters created all sorts of structures from a large bin of old Legos that had been their father's when he was a kid.

I have purchased many Lego sets for my grandson. This is the first set that we have had broken and cracked pieces. I would return it but I am out of the return window.

great product/toy for children in 9-10 age range. just challenging enough to build to be a good activity in itself, spendid for imagination-sparking play and recreation of stories from the book on Harry Potter, also enough characters and accessories for them to make some new stories in the child's mind/world. Only drawback is the price - I believe this is a Lego-discontinued item (think Disney "we're going to put the video back in the vault so we can raise the price). This is way overpriced for the list/retain price - but we could not find it anywhere at retail price. Searched several souces and all said "we do not carry that anymore, and we will not be getting anymore in stock." So, in this situation, it's either pay the piper or go another route. Would be a five star rating if not for the over-pricing.

This is a decent Lego building set. It helps in hand-eye coordination and especially developing the ability to mentally "see" a small three dimensional part in various spatial configurations. The precision of the mating parts is remarkable. They fit together with sufficient strength to make a stable structure, yet they can be taken apart readily. It is a good building set with excellent educational value.

This was for my 10yr old daughter just getting into Harry Potter. She mentioned that it was just part of a much bigger set, like this is the add on. We don't have the other set but she loves this anyway. She likes all the little rooms and mini figures that come with it. She role plays by herself and when her friends who are Harry Potter fans come over. It is fun for her to take it apart and rebuild it too. She never played Lego's before even though we have tons with our boys so I am glad this set has caught her interest.

Legos...who dosen't love them. I returned this set as it wasn't the one we thought it was... our mistake not sellers. Return was easy and hassle free.

my child adores harry potter legos. the large hogwarts lego was completely out of our price range. this one however is perfect. I couldnt have been happier to find this. in my price range without lacking any of the bells and whistles an 8 year old would need compared to the over 100$ hogwarts. couldn't be happier to add this to the harry potter lego collection at home

Was a lot smaller than I had expected for the money I had paid. I got a much bigger simpsons house Lego set for half the price. When I picked it up to move it when my daughter finished it the castle fell apart
