Excellent!

Great book but the print is very very VERY fine....so fine that you practically need a magnifying glass just to read the text. Definitely Lonely Planet quality but of no real use. Buy a dictionary instead.

This is a joke. So little content. Too many dialects that you will never use, and just confuse. Worst purchase on Amazon for me. One could never learn Hindi to speak with locals from this poor book.

I cared for an gurgarti Indian lady I picked up some words and we communicated well but just so interested in learning more and this helped with understanding their culture

A very good & comprehensive book. For those who cannot read Indian language alphabets, this book is suitable for you. It shows you how to pronounce the words in Roman letters, making conversations as well as the learning process easier.Highly recommended for beginners & travellers.

I'm sure it is an excellent phrasebook. The issue is that the print is so small that it's very difficult to read even with spectacles. The book should have the size and print of the standard lonely planet country guides to be really useful. Compact size is not what is required for a phrasebook/dictionary.
