Will charge a zero volt dead battery
I just found what seems to be a hidden or non-documented feature on my Forney 52755 charger. I was faced with a zero volt deep cycle batter to be charged. When connected, my charger showed 0.0 on the display. I wondered what would happen if I selected the 12V/200A setting and then held the start button down until something happened. Guess what..... The charger turned on after about 5 seconds and started charging!!!! I watched the voltage gradually rise from 0.0 to 12. When it reached 12, I turned off the charger to reset it, turned it on and selected the 12V/40A setting. It started right up and displayed RECON on the display. My zero volt dead battery is now fine. I wonder why this is not covered in the manual. Five stars for sure on this one!!!

Good charger
A decent machine. Has a separate ON/OFF switch for rhe power cord, then another on/off for changing cables and starting charging. I like the digital features. I bought this to try and revive old baatteries, couldn't do it. Seems to take a long time for the blue "maintain" light to come on. The manual is sparse. Whish it had more discussion on theory of charging. It has RECON and DESULF readouts, but they only come on for a second at beginning of charge.

Doesn't work
Will not charge low batteries. Every time you try to charge a battery that is below 6 volts it says the cables are reversed wrong connection. Even if you put it on 200 amp engine start to try to get voltage in the battery it still will not charge. This is a horrible product need to go back to the not smart chargers.

Great investment
I couldn't be happier with this purchase, pretty much already paid for it's self. Had a couple batteries that I thought might be no good and this charger brought them back to life.

Decent Charger, But Could Be Easier to Use
The Forney 52755 battery charger does its job, and it’s nice that it supports both 6V and 12V batteries with a variety of charging and engine start options. The build feels solid and the unit seems durable enough for regular use. That said, the controls and settings can be a little confusing at first, especially if you’re not familiar with multi-function chargers. The instructions could be clearer, and it’s a fairly large unit, so it takes up more space than I expected. Overall, it works fine for charging and jump-starting, but it’s not the most user-friendly option out there. Good for someone experienced with battery chargers, but beginners might struggle a bit.

Works great
Used at shop today Worked great left it on 40 amp kept battery at full charge while working on a 85 mustang .We used a cheap old battery with 500 amps to test it .We even took off the coil wire and cranked the motor until the battery was drained .used 40 amp fast charge for 20 mins the 200 amp boost .put coil wire on and it started right up.
