It is a good sized book and consequently legible. I thought it expensive at first but now I think it is good value for what it is. I have book 1 and find it far from easy so I dread to think of the level of books 3,4 and 5. You will need a basic knowledge of Greek to develop it with this book. It is not perfect, as some examples of everyday speech are extremely unlikely but you take your choice. To have repetition in different situations is key to understanding and this book ticks that box. If you have already made a start in learning Greek and can manage without being able to listen to the content, I recommend this book. Review: An invaluable resource for students of Modern Greek - Having initially been slightly daunted by the price, I am now delighted with my investment. The book is attractively and clearly presented and offers a rational, time-saving approach to acquiring Greek vocabulary. One might argue over the inclusion or non-inclusion of certain words, but the approach adopted (based on analysis of huge quantities of film subtitles) seems to me to be perfectly legitimate. The inclusion of examples for all 2525 entries is a considerable plus. My sole quibble is that some of the examples are a little complex for beginners. Deciphering the Greek for "Shipments of rough diamonds to and from free trade zones should be processed by the designated authorities" (example given for προς, No. 155) is rather tough if you only know 155 Greek words, but still, it's a challenge and my knowledge of Greek is growing by leaps and bounds!
