Do yE live with the Sidhe?
I had to wait a long time before I could get this book, and generally, it has been worth the wait! Like Ludovico Sinistrari's "Demonology," this is the rare account by a living person with those peoples of the unobstructed universe which is not condemned or circumscribed by dogma. Like Sinistrari, Kirk was a well-educated person, and no ordinary turtle-eating parson. Although Lang's introduction can be tedious, he had the sense to stay enough out of Kirk's way so as to allow the latter free say. As a person who experiences the Sidhe every day I heartily recommend this book!

Wonderful book
This is quite an interesting book. It gives you a brief history of Robert Kirk before you enter into his treatise on the Good People.

Not the worst thing I've ever read
We have to remember that this book was written a long, long time ago. It's not always easy to follow or understand and Kirk was a product of his environment, like all of us are. He was writing for his 18th century audience, not us. Having said that, I'm finding it a fascinating insight into the not very comfortable coexistence of pagan folklore, Christianity and the social norms of Kirk's era and how people were trying to reconcile the three. It wasn't intended to be social commentary, obviously, but it accidently is and its easier to see it from here than it was way back when. The preserving of many old terms and the folk beliefs about the fae people, magic and the mystical realms are enough to make it worth reading, or trying to.

Awesome
I heard about this book on a podcast (Leyendas Legendarias) and I had to buy it. It really opens your mind about the possibility of the existence of fairies.

Good read
This is a wonderfully good read. Remember a witch can never stop learning and researching.

Nice for your faerie collection
Cute little book for when you want to sit with a cuppa and be drawn into this magical world. The writing is just spell-binding enough that I've revisited a few times. Nice for your faerie collection. <3

Unlearned superstitions
This book is a tome of a Scottish parson trying to discover, by using mostly hearsay, to prove the existence of the Faery Realm and the phenomenon of second sight. Being a Hebridean myself I believed that it was real as concrete but after growing up and reading I think it's enough clishmaclaver to make a cat laugh. Still, these writings hold a certain weight to them as they were used by Mr. Kirk to escape a witchcraft allegation in the late 1600s at a time when even two year old girls were sentenced to death.

Truth into one great whole.
If you are curious about the link between Christianity and the Fairy Faith of the Celts, this is the one book you must read. Written by a pastor of the middle ages, who also happens to meet the requirements of a scottish seer, Kirk tells things you probably will never read anywhere else!I find this book to be filled with truth, at least as it was.

Não consegui ler
Não consegui terminar de ler. O livro de 94 página tem na verdade 43 do autor. O restante são comentários sobre o livro de outros autores. Eu vou tentar lê-lo em uma outra oportunidade, mas dessa vez não deu.
