Love it!
Review:Great chair. I bought this as a Christmas gift for my brother who always wanted the original Eames but never wanted to pay that much. I did some research and I decided to go with the highest quality replica even if is a few hundred dollars more expensive than some others on here. I spoke to the seller and I was reassured about the quality and manufacturing process. The chair arrived a few days after I placed the order, which was surprising to me. I assembled it in about 15 minutes and I consider my self average when it comes to assembling furniture. Now the lounge chair is sitting in my living room and, even if I was not into this design, I am growing to like it. Maybe next Christmas I will ask my brother to get me one lol

A Marked Step up over the Cheaper variants
*******READ FIRST********I've been in discussions with the seller on this product. The chair that is send is NOT what is listed here for $1,000 What is sent is an emes replica that is Genuine leather, not super soft Italian leather, the chair that is sent uses outdated rubber shock mounts, not the silicon shock mounts listed, the chair that is sent doesn't have high quality zippers holding the upholstery together that can be easily removed like a slip cover for cleaning, as stated, instead they just use staples, like all the other CHEAPER variants. This listing is a joke, the fact that they want $1,000 for it is a scam, DO NOT buy this item, either pay less with the $700 variants, or spend a little more for the $1400 variants. I am working with Amazon to have this listing removed and get my refund. BUYER BEWARESo, I've been waiting months to purchase this chair. I've also waited with anticipation to see how the quality of this chair would end up being, compared to the cheaper variants. After receiving the item I was able to take it all in and finally be able to enjoy this product, and give it my review.First is price, as of July 2019 this chair has ballooned to $1,000 up form $800 a few months earlier when I first added it to my cart. That was a very hard pill to swallow. Considering there is a $600 variant that comes with real leather (not just "genuine"). Back when this item was $800 I would say it was in scale with the $600 chair. The overall quality of this chair is better than the cheaper variants. But I stop short in saying it's $400 better. From my research, the padding is a better high density foam, there are damper washers used for attaching the base plate to the chair bottom. Some reviews of the cheaper chairs complain that without these dampers their chairs tend to make a creaking noise whenever they move around. Also this chair base comes with a better fastener assembly than the cheaper variants. The cheaper variants use a plastic sleeve to hold the base in place through compression. This model uses a metal O ring at one end and a metal washer and a set screw at the other end to assemble the seat base (see image 4).Beyond these differences I don't see any change in quality that justifies a $400 price difference. The leather is nice, it's Italian full grain leather, I like it, seems durable, but I don't think it's any different than the $600 full grain Italian leather, maybe it is and I'm just unaware. Out of the box I think the leather needs conditioning, I plan to do this in the coming days, while it is adequately wrapped and protected in shipping I found the leather to have a SLIGHT gritty, dusty feel to it. This feel may be taking away for the initial quality I'm experiencing.I don't want to sound like I'm against this purchase, I'm not the product is a very good chair. I'm very pleased with the quality, just cautioning those of you wondering if this more expensive model would be a better upgrade than the $600 models. For those wondering how this product arrives, it comes in two packages, the bases and hardware come in a 20lb box while the chair itself comes in a 60lb box. I rolled my box up my stairs to my apartment, the shipping has adequate padding and uses a sturdy plywood "crate" design that prevents the box from crumpling when being rolled, good to know that the chair will not be damaged while in aggressive shipping. The bases are VERY well wrapped in thick foam padding keeping the metal bits from damaging each other. My only complaint with the shipping was that the base plates tend to jut out at the corners, the paint flecked off on the corners as a result, I will live with this seeing as it's the underside of the plate, but it is something that needs to be addressed for future shipments. Another issue I encountered was the assembly baggie that holds all the bolts to assemble came loose. It's a zip-lock bag that wasn't secured before it was shipped. This wasn't an issue for me as everything came arrived, but all the contents of this bag had spilled out in shipping, it could have been a bad situation.Moving past the shipping I'm going to look at the assembly of the item. So, don't expect assembly instructions to be included with this item. I hear this is par for the course for this style of knock off chair. if you need help assembling this chair, there are good YouTube videos that can easily be referenced. The actual assembly process for me was fairly smooth. The allen wrenches work well enough to tighten down the fasteners. The most difficult area for assembly would have to be the arm rests. The angles are just awkward, and the allen wrenches do a poor job at torquing down the rests. There's absolutely 0 clearance because of the awkward 45* fastening angle. Being forced to use the low torque end I wound up using a pair of pliers and I highly recommend using the same method or better yet a drill. Finally I get to the assembled chair, once assembled I have no complaints. The quality is there, solid feel, no squeaks, smooth swivel, and adequate support. My body type is probably large, 5'11" ~240lb, but I will say this, some complain that this chair is too small, either they feel smooshed in while sitting in this chair, or for some reason just isn't high enough off the ground for their needs. with my body type this chair fits me great. There's ample space around the my sitting area, this isn't lazy boy I can lounge in all angles kind of space but rather, what's the minimum space needed for sitting, and let's add 15% for comfort kind of space. This is indicative of the early 60's where minimalism was in vogue. For those that tend to knock this style, OK go buy something more contemporary and less retro. I've seen contemporary re-imaginings of this style chair, higher off the ground, wider seat, bigger backing, the number one complaint I see for those is that their proportions are off and the chair becomes WAY to big. I think this style of chair requires a certain mind set, it is not a recliner, while the seating angle lends you to think that the chair is good for reclining, it's deceptive. The seating angle is JUST enough to put your body into a "0 g" position without feeling the reclined angle. Unlike traditional recliners that shift your center of gravity from your bottom to your back, this position almost eliminated your center of gravity entirely, hence "0 g" This was intention in the design of the chair of course. Since the chair isn't designed for reclining and taking a nap, there is no need for a neck support or head rest. It is meant instead to be used as a readying chair, or a way to watch TV, play video games, while maintaining proper posture. To this end, this recreation does a good job accomplish this. I saw a review complaining that this chair is "built for someone 5 foot tall" simply because they couldn't lay their head back and take a nap. consider this, are all chairs suppose to be recliners? how about desk chairs? table chairs, bar stools? no they all have different functions, If you want a recliner get a barkalounge, if you want a classic mid century reading chair that's perfect for hours of study, then consider this chair. All in all, I'm not returning this product, I am pleased with the quality, I would like to have got it for $200 less and feel that is the better price point. Would I bay the extra $400 again knowing now what I know? probably not, again this chair should be purchased at $800, not $1,000. This is a classic chair that is a great way to challenge our preconceptions about chair design and function. While obviously not for everyone, it is a design I'd like to see more of in modern interior decorating. Good buy.

not for tall people
This chair is too short for tall people. For a 5' tall person, you can lean back and rest your head, but if you are 6' tall, this chair is too short to give you any head or neck support. Even as a 5' tall person, there is no neck support unless you lean back. For a chair that is fixed angle leaning back, it's not comfortable for reading and watching TV. I bought this chair for reading and find that my back and shoulder hurts after sitting on it for > 10 min.
