GAMMA ONE Rice Bran Oil, 1 Liter

I was looking for alternatives to the classic vegetable oil as my husband started to have inflammatory issues with it. So I went looking for oils that had more benefits, but it also had to be a neutral oil as I already have Olive Oil for taste and can handle high temperature. This oil has been amazing to cook with over the years! It never tastes too strong but is so smooth that I can use it for everything, even for high-heat frying if needed. Its smoke point really is that high as I've fried many things in it, and the amount you get with this is more than enough for most basic frying needs. Even better, it doesn't cause any inflammatory response so it is a great health oil if you want to use something besides the basic vegetable oil. With its large size it is definitely worth the price, especially for all the benefits it has both for cooking and health.

This is high quality and it has a nice handle to pour with it. It has a mild flavor and indeed can go very hot. I don't have any reason to look for another brand, and the price was competitive.

I’ve been very pleased with the quality of this Rice Bran Oil. I use it quite often in my cold process soap recipes. It is pretty similar to Olive Oil in thickness and can be substituted for Olive Oil in recipes as long as the Lye amount is recalculated. However, it’s usually kept at a maximum usage rate of about 20%. Rice Bran Oil also has antioxidants in it and helps create a harder bar of soap than a lot of other soft oils like Sunflower Oil or Sweet Almond Oil.

For sure 100% better than olive oil definitely holds higher heat for like searing chicken burger steaks

I am satisfied with the oil. People told me it had a high smoke point, but I do not believe it to be better than other oils for smoke. It worked well in my cast iron pan to prevent sticking, and it was easy enough to clean. If I had not had as much smoke, I might have given it a higher rating. I am not impressed.

I occasionally cook with this because of the high smoke point and neutral flavor. It works well for that. It's not the healthiest cooking oil, not the worst. (Something some people may want to research if your health conscious). I didn't buy it to cook with though. It's perfect for my 3c/4a hair before/on my ends while I prepoo my hair before washing and after shampooing, for sealing in other products and and on my skin for a little subtle shine. Moisturizing but not too heavy doesn't leave my hair or skin oily. Melts into skin quickly enough although you do need to thoroughly rub it in . I suggested it to someone I know with 2a hair. It would work for straighter hair types too, just use small amounts if you have straighter hair. A big bottle that I've had for months and it holds up well in storage.

-edit- The almost out of date product on the 1 order seems to have been an anomaly. I've purchased this oil twice more since then. Purchase date 9.23.25 - best by date 2.10.27. Purchase date 1.06.26 - best by date 10.11.27. I've adjusted the 3 star rating to 5 stars. I am satisfied with the performance of this product and will continue to purchase this product in the future. -end edit- I've purchased this product twice from Amazon. The first time was December 5th 2024 and the best by date on the bottle was 6/11/26. The 2nd time I ordered was April 10th 2025 and the best by date on the newest bottle is 6/17/25. 68 days from the day I ordered it. Why am I being shipped a product that is that close to an expiration date? This oil has a shelf life of YEARS. There really is just no valid excuse. This product is non returnable because it's food. Someone needs to do better with inventory management and rotation. As a cooking oil I like it. I'm allergic to soy oils. This rice oil having a neutral flavor and a high smoke point works very well for me. Unfortunately in my town finding a rice oil that isn't garlic infused or trying to be more than it is, next to impossible. So oil on Amazon is my 1 reliable option even at an inflated price. Apparently even that is a crapshoot with the roulette on what expiration date you're gonna get. I've removed 2 stars for the expiration date being so close. Might as well just shoved 12 dollars in the trash.
