I'm officially a convert, and should probably go on to read Ruth Stout's book next ( Gardening Without Work: For the Aging, the Busy, and the Indolent )!The book covers everything you could possibly want to know on more than 50 mulching materials. It tells you the pros and cons to each one and gives you insight on things such as cost, weed control value, moisture retention, and decomposition rate.Campbell writes in such a way that the book is simple, engaging, and informative - a combination which held my attention and made the book an enjoyable read. And then there's the Quick Reference Chart! This incredibly handy guide makes access to mulch information even easier to learn, remember, or retrieve. If you have questions about mulch, are a skeptic like I was, or just want all the information in one place - this is the book for you. Especially if you want a garden that is "Rich looking, neat as a pin, and glowing with health."
