Why Is That Art?: Aesthetics and Criticism of Contemporary Art 2nd Edition

This book helped me understand why there are so many conflicting views on what art is exactly. Ultimately, it's almost impossible to find someone who agrees with every definition and theory of what art truly is, but this book presents it all so you can make your own conclusions about what art is. I highly recommend!

Other than a large sticker on the front cover, the look of this book is great! Without the sticker, it could have been new. The contents of the book itself are thought provoking and fresh. Colored panels in the middle have got to be my favorite part of any art book. Short and sweet introduction to art criticism, very much recommended. : )

This should be required reading for all art students. I wish I would have found this at the beginning of my studies so I would have known how to talk about and understand what I was looking at in critiques and it would have been very helpful knowledge for required writing assignments.

It's nice to know more about art and why people call different things art we all have art it's just matter of what you view as art

I had to get this book for philosophy of art 3700. So far the book is nicely broken up into sections within the chapters and pretty easy to comprehend.

Bought for school. Very boring.
