Finish Line Bike Brake Cleaner Disc Rotor Cleaner 10 fl oz

I have a Trek Émonda with disc brakes and was at the end of my rope. I had truly come to hate disc brakes on a bike. My brakes would squeal whenever I applied them to a full stop and sometimes long before that. I would ride down some steep hills in a town where the bike path took you through the middle of town and my brakes would sound like a flock of geese. It was embarrassing. I changed my pads and rotors and cleaned them with alcohol, sandpaper, all of the known tricks. I eased up the caliper screws and tightened them with the brakes applied to ensure they were straight, etc., etc. I bedded them repeatedly. Finally, I ordered this Finish Line brake cleaner in desperation. I sprayed both sides of both rotors and went for a ride. It was like a miracle. No noise at all, even on the dreaded hills in town. This stuff is worth every penny. I can stop hating disc brakes... except for how heavy they are. If you have disc brakes on your bike, you need this cleaner. I ordered a 2nd bottle to take with me to RAGBRAI because of the embarrassment last year. No, I don't work for Finish Line. This stuff is just that good.

Sprayed my bike brakes twice, each time this reduced the Squealing of the brakes. It did not completely stop the squealing, but much better than the brakes were, prior to using. By using a clean cloth and spraying the brakes and wiping off to clean the discs may help even more. I might try that method if the brakes get loud again. Worth a try for $10 if you have squeaking/squealing brakes.

I used this for years with good results, then my can started running low, so when a break squeal started, I tried some other approaches to see if I could do without it. I had a bottle of Silca drive train and brake cleaner that I used when I switched my bikes to waxed chains. I thoroughly sanded and cleaned the pads, rotors, and calipers, but it did nothing to quell the squeal. I redid everything with acetone and alcohol with no luck. Then I squirted out the last remnants of this stuff, and for whatever reason, it worked. No more squeal. I don't know why this worked, as I thought it was just aerosolized acetone, but for whatever reason, it worked. Maybe it just got off the last bit of residue, but It was much quicker than other methods and was similar to previous outcomes. I've happily reordered a can. I hated being that guy out there with that squeaky brake.

Both my bike disc brakes were squeaking bad. I spray it on and let it dry and the squeaking is now gone. So glad I didn't have to pull apart the brakes.

Works as described

Excellent for bike rotors and calipers. No muss no fuss and the squeaks disappear. For older brakes be sure the pads don’t need to be replaced.

The plastic straw that helps direct the spay is difficult to put in and it doesn’t stay attached well. The spray did an ok job cleaning my chain but it did not help with the squeaky disk brakes

Shows it comes with a nozzle but the nozzle provided does not fit the head of the can (in fact not sure any nozzle would fit its head) so effectively does not actually come with a nozzle

This works very well with my bike, and even cleared away the squeaky stop.
