I love the ability to attach a lanyard to it so I can safely secure it to myself. It's very sturdy as it's already survived many falls and barely has any scratches of its own. I don't use the fingerprint scanner so I can't speak to that. I hear everything when I call or play music. My phone is still new looking for being in the case almost a year. I work outdoors so I drop it in sand mud water. If you have the phone on speaker I guess this case would be ok, but who wants everyone listening to your conversation.
