I have been using these files for a number of years since purchasing. I am a guitarist, finger-style, and constantly have to monitor and trim my nails with precision. These are the best files I have ever found. They can remove material rapidly, and they also allow for very precise fine-tunings. They last for years, and they work as effectively today as they did when purchased in 2019. I consider them a happy discovery, and one that is reasonable priced for what you get.

I am so glad that I accidently found these, read the positive reviews and decided to try them. Waaaaay better than emery boards or even the metal files (what I used to use for yrs n yrs). Those other types of files seem to leave your nail edge kind of rough. These glass files are not as harsh on the nail edge. It leaves them smooth; and you do no need to do as many passes over your nail to shape or shorten them. I agree with the one person who said they use this file instead of cutting their nails with a clipper. I do the same thing now. They are definitely worth it as compared to the other types of cheaper files. I keep the large one at home; the medium is for travel; and the small one I keep in my phone purse. You can even use it to remove ridges on top of your nail but be careful not to file too much or you may make your nail thin. Granted, if not taken care of properly, dropped or put into a bag with a lot of other heavy things, they will break but that's not a manufacturing issue. They are crystal/glass. If I happen to break one, I will definitely buy again.

Up until my health issues started about 30 years ago, I had always used the glass files. I did my own nails and people were always commenting on how great they looked and how envious they were of them never breaking or chipping. Once my health issues started I was no longer able to look after my nails or get to a manicurist so my nails were one of the first very noticeable downward changes in my appearance. As things got better health wise these past 5 years, I started using other files because my original glass ones had disappeared and I couldn't find a local supplier for glass ones. Nothing helped. Even tried those really pricey, diamond dusted metal ones. There was a slight improvement with these but my nails still chipped and split on the tips. It seemed that I should just resign myself to not having decent looking nails again. When a friend mentioned that she'd found these on amazon I wasn't really hopeful of success but decided to give them a try. Although the product page describes these as coming in a pouch, they are actually each in their own sleeve. This is more practical and more protective for each of the files. Just using these for a few days has made a difference already. I've had no chipping or breaking. ( was pretty much a daily occurrence) My nail edges feel firmer, Buffing the top of my nails has cleaned up those ugly ridges without weakening or damaging my nails. If I can see this unexpected improvement in this relatively short time I am hopeful that I'll be back to wearing polish soon. The smallest size is perfect for carrying out. The middle size is ideal for your stay at home manicures. The largest size is great for nail surface buffing and filing adult size 13 feet toe nails. All the files wash up and dry easily. We've discovered that these files work really well on animal claws/nails so we'll be replacing our own set and using this first one for the fur babies. There are a few colours to choose from along with the plain glass. My daughters and grand daughters are most likely getting their own sets for Christmas.
