Magnetic Sunroof Screen for Car Camping, Breathable Mesh Sun Shade

Worked great for camping. Kept bugs out. Nice for ventilation. Easy to attach. Take off before going into carwash. Not meant to drive with:) Oops.

I just purchased a new Lexus GX550 and I plan to car camp in it. I bought this screen for the sunroof and it is PERFECT. I was skeptical about it when I purchased it because the price was so low, relative to some of the others - but it is absolutely perfect. The magnets are strong and it is sized just right. It completely covers the entire open sunroof area. I also like how it folds down to a very small and compact carrying bag. I am 100% happy and would even say it's one of the best items I've ever made from Amazon. I like it when an item exceeds expectations and this one really does!

This is my initial review. As I just received this today, I thought it was important to point out a flaw from out of the package. There is a small hole with what appears to be a runner (think pantyhose from days gone by) leading to it. At the moment, it's not too big of a deal, but it could let in gnats or smaller biting bugs, and there's a risk of it getting larger with use. The magnets should be stronger, in my opinion. They are not the weakest strip magnets I've come across, but it would be nice to have rare earth magnets at the corners and center of the long sides, just in case I accidentally drive off with it still on my roof - or have to in an emergency. Sure, it's not a terribly expensive item, but I can see it becoming essential for car camping. I would not want to be without it. I was glad to see how well it fit around my moon roof, with enough room to raise the vent option, if desired, and remain sealed all around. I look forward to using this and retuning with updates if there is anything significant to report.

Difficult to fold after opening. Magnesium slide together in channel and are a struggle to get back into proper place. Once placed over sunroof, does a good job of keeping insects out whole allowing air flow. Not made for use while vehicle moving.

This sunroof screen is sturdily made, and has long, narrow magnetic bars that work exceptionally well! I had tried another product that had the dot magnets in it, and...just a mess. This product installed easily, quickly, and lays flat across my sunroof. It worked so well that I tried it on my two rear passenger windows of my 2012 Subaru Outback. It works well on those too, so I bought two more! Now my dog can have air flowing from above, and each side if I have to leave her in the car to run quick errands in sunny, but not too hot weather. I highly recommend this magnetic screen product, if the dimensions work for your car. It fits nicely tight, straight, and flat without any ripples or rumples. I know I'll be using it a lot this summer for just keeping my car cooler, and the bugs out when I'm out and about running errands, with/without my dog.

The magnets being collapsible for smaller storage is a good idea but it leaves gaps when fully unfolded which wind would get under and cause an odd humming buzzing racket. We adjusted the strap tension to try and remedy it, but the buckle loops didn't line up nicely with our model car as it sat right in the door frame. Update - tried on open roads above 40 MPH and if it weren't for the straps this would have flown right off our car and gone through the windshield of the car behind us. Do NOT recommend on the highway, which was what I was just excited for, but ok for town/ city speeds and camping/ tailgate events. Update 2 - took it camping and water poured in through the elastic straps into both the window track and the interior seats

I USED THIS RECENTLY on a car camping trip and I had no complaints. It was easy to install. Just place it on top of your car over the sunroof, adjust the magnets and connect the buckles. It stayed in place. It was a very windy weekend and it did not move. It was nice to be able to look up at the sky and feel a nice breeze without the worry of bugs or mosquitos.

Great for car camping.

I like this sunroof cover. Plan is to use it while camping in the truck to keep the bugs out overnight. I've set it up once just to do a fit test and it worked great. I like the long magnets that run the entire perimeter as opposed to just on the corners or something. Packs up easily bag into the included carrying bag. Of note though... it's not big enough to use the "vent" feature of the sunroof as my roof pops up too high that it would "break the seal" of the netting. Works great though if I just open sunroof as normal as the glass sets into the roof instead of just tilting up at the back.

I have not yet installed on my car, but it looks good and feels soft. It is just couple wider gaps on the mesh. I hope these aren’t big enough for bugs to get in.

I didn't get a picture of this, but it's exactly what I wanted. Especially if I am camped somewhere for a few days. If I want to quickly air out my SUV, I put the hatch screen up instead, because this one takes a bit of time to get it in place (and I'm short,) But if I'm car camping and staying put for a couple days, this is perfect to just leave on and open the sun roof for airflow.
