Scotch Titanium Snap-Off Utility Knife – Large 18mm Heavy-Duty Cutter with Locking Retractable Blade, Comfort Grip (Titanium 3X Sharper, Ideal for Boxes & Crafts)

This is a well-built, easy-to-use, utility knife. The blades are super sharp, and when the time comes to snap them off, they have just the right amount of resistance, but are not too difficult to remove. There is not a traditional “lock” on this knife to keep the blade in place, but it does lock automatically if your finger/thumb is not pushing down on the piece that extends the blade. I tested this repeatedly, and it will stay put! Great knife!

What's not to like? It has an easy ratcheting feature that allows you to use a tiny blade when opening packages like clothing where you don't want to accidentally cut too deep, then you can make it larger for easy breaking down of boxes. The blade is fantastically sharp and easy to replace. The handle, although plastic instead of metal like I am used to, it pretty comfortably designed so it is easy to hold in the hand and lightweight. My daughter says it's the best kind for women's hands she has ever used.

Metal case has a nice sturdy weight to it. Does its job perfectly!

Got the 18mm large Titanium Sotch Utility Knife.Works great and I use it for crafts, opening boxes and easy to use.Only draw back is that I can't seem to fine the larger replacement blades, but any of similar size works.

I am very impressed with this utility knife. It's not another marketing nonsense--Titanium this and that--it actually is really sharp and holds its edge. All my other utility knives have fallen out of favor because they feel so blunt and flimsy compared to this one. Slicing cardboard is so smooth.You can also get blade refills to replace your run-of-the-mill blades, but I think the handle is nice. Besides looking good, they fit nicely in my hands, the blade extends and retract smoothly (but not too smoothly to be dangerous). A pleasure of a tool to use overall!Who knew anyone would write an ode to a utility blade! It was an impulse buy that turned out to be a great buy!

I found this box cutter a long time ago at a local office supply store, but sadly, they decided to discontinue it, so I bought it from Amazon; it has just the right weight, the titanium nitride coating on the blade(s) make cutting smooth and fast - very little "bunching" of the cardboard which can cause jams during the cut, which can be very frustrating and annoying. The built-in blade "snapper" really sold me: I didn't even realize that this tool was there, until I noticed the little button on the side, which keeps it locked in place until needed! It works absolutely great, and I won't use any other cutter (I AM tossing all the other ones that I tried, when I couldn't find this one at the office supply store!)

This is the only utility knives I will buy from now on
