Fantastic outdoor ball
Love the Franklin x40 ball. Stays round, lasts a decent time and doesn’t get too soft. Ball of choice for outdoor UK conditions.

Initially thought these weren’t genuine
As these are to be used in this years English Open I thought I’d try some. The ones I received had a visible & tactile seam, unlike others I was shown at a recent PB event.Naturally I thought mine were fake as the outdoor ball is ‘one-piece’.I contacted Franklin & they confirmed the balls were legitimate X-40's and that mine had a normal mold mark that wears away quickly once you start playing. (They are one-piece & the mold mark is because the mold is in two pieces to enable the ball to be removed). So, as I have seen other balls with no visible mark yet mine had what looked & felt like joins, I have to put it down to manufacturing batch variation. However, I note some other reviewers also thought theirs were fakes.

Woeful in Winter!
Just not able to cope with outdoor play in a UK winter, the plastic becomes very brittle and splits. save these for the summer x
