GermGuardian Elite Pluggable UV-C Air Sanitizer & Deodorizer, White

My sister‑in‑law recommended this air purifier after using it in her own bathrooms, and I’m glad she did. We bought three for our home, and they’ve made a noticeable difference. Our bathrooms don’t have windows, so they tend to get a musty smell — that issue is completely gone now. One of my favorite things about this unit is that there’s no filter to replace, which makes it super low‑maintenance. It does have a humming sound, but it’s pretty quiet and you can’t hear it outside the bathroom. Honestly, if you put it in a bedroom it would just act like a gentle white noise machine. The size is decent, but not a problem for us since we have plenty of space above the outlets. Overall, this has been a simple and effective solution for keeping our bathrooms smelling fresh.

Ive had this unit running for over a year now and is still performing the same, noise wise, light is still working even though I purchased it with 2 additional replacement bulbs I am glad I havent had to touch them so far. USB port is working and is actually a great addition I thought never would be needed but came in handy to power on a scent oil fan that uses the USB so its great for that without having extra 5V adapter plugged in the wall. At one instance possibly after 6 months of running it had some whine noise to it for a couple of weeks where I thought it was the fan about to die and I expected it to though after that it went back to normal. If it kills odors? I would say so, but not at a very fast rate though definitely sanitizes the air in very small to small rooms. Mid-sized bathroom is a little too much but It can handle it though takes longer. Not sure of the fan CFM but my guess comparing to computer fans, it would be at around 40. Noise level isnt distressing nor calming but say like a centrifugal laptop fan thats in higher spin mode however enclosure of this unit makes the sound more echoed and amplified, if I could put it that way. There are slits on sides, bottom and top, and needs to be dusted, I vacuum it once a month or two so it definitely also acts as a dust filter, sort of. If you ever seen the cloud of a toilet paper or tissue in sunlight, you get the idea why this clogs with dust in bathrooms so fast. Maybe I wish this had a compartment for scent cartridges so that I wouldnt have to have a scent oil USB fan connected to it and maybe I wish it had a fan speed setting knob. Still, its a 5 star product for me that does the job well the way it is and I do recommend it.

I have two cats, one of whom commits what can only be described as a violation of the Geneva Convention when she uses the litter box (seriously, it stinks). Even after I scoop and scoop, some of the odor still lingers, which prompted me to look for a more effective solution than scented wax melts and other similar -- but limited-time-use -- products. I researched a few different air purifiers and decided to give this one a whirl based on its other reviews and its reasonable cost. I'm so glad I did. This unit does a good job of cleaning the air in my bathroom (where my stinky cat's litter box is located). It doesn't work immediately, but it noticeably works in eliminating lingering odors in between my cleaning. It also doesn't give out any odor of its own, nor does it seem to collect or circulate dust and other air debris. In regards to it doing its job, it does it well, seems well-made, and won't likely give me any issues when I have to change the bulb (which seems like a simple enough process). However, this thing is bulky and its prongs aren't polarized. That means that, in certain outlets, it may "lean" a bit when plugged in, and it can take up significant real estate in your receptacle. I solved most of this issue by rearranging some of my power strips to put in a 6-outlet power strip in my bathroom, which this is plugged into. That gave it enough support to prevent it from "leaning" too much and allows me to still plug in other things without having to temporarily unplug this unit. It's also quite loud. When I'm in the bathroom, this device can easily drown out my thoughts from the steady whir of the fan. I think it'd be quite annoying if I used it in a more frequently used room, too, like my living room or bedroom. To that end, I'd only recommend using this in rooms you won't spend much time in.

I also have the original style, the gg1000, which is cylindrical shape. I love my original & thought I'd try this newer style model also. I bought 1st 1 for litter box odors & have been thrilled w/ it. I was scooping everything from litter immediately when home & still smelled odor which lead me to getting my 1st 1. It totally did the trick & has saved my sanity. I was finally able to get litter box out of the rm it was in originally & move it elsewhere (rmmate issues) & found myself not wanting to part w/ my germ guardian in that rm since it helps clean air & I'm often plagued w/ other ppl's cooking odors too. Doesn't clear those as quickly but to it's defense, it's a big job w/ these ppl. Can't imagine what it'd b like w/o it. So I ordered this rectangular style 1 for new litter box location & it's doing it's job. I Don't mind the white noise. I will say that this 1 did give off a plastic type odor for the 1st 24 hrs at least which my original didn't do. It did disappear after that time & has been fine since. The only design flaw I noticed w/ new 1 is it doesn't have a rotating plug like my gg1000 does which allowed it to stay upright no matter which way plug is & i really liked that option since I use mine in a surge protector power strip the long way. I was going to put new 1 in original rm & 1st 1 in rm w/ cat litter box but due to lack of rotating plug, I had to put new 1 w/ litter box cuz it just wouldn't work w/ my pwr strip set up. I do like the usb port for charging devices altho it's not as convenient in the other rm as it would've been where i wanted it, so that feature isn't as beneficial to me as it could've been. Even using unit upside down wouldn't have worked well w/ my set up. It's still a good item tho & really does work miracles w/ litter odors. I'd absolutely recommend either model. The light does look cool on new model also. It's a cooler looking unit, it just would've been even better w/ rotating plug. Hope this helps. Great product & great company. Do ck airways of unit for dust tho & keep them clear to keep it running properly. I have recommended to friends & family who also like theirs. 1 was for someone w/ an elderly mother who occasionally had incontinence issues her rm smelled. It has helped considerably w/ odors for them. The other uses to help w/ cigarette smoke in 1 closed off rm. It helps there too, better than w/ just their air filter going like b4.

This thing is amazing! We have three cats in one apartment, so our small bathroom can easily start to smell, even with odor controlled litter and odor spray. I got this to help with smell and clean air in the bathroom. It works FANTASTIC. Not a single sniff of litter box left to complain about, and it feels easier to breathe! 100% would buy again. The only downside, if it would be an issue for your household, is that it emits a constant low hum. I don't mind this so much, however.

Writing a review for this item is difficult because I can not confirm how well it works in killing germs without special equipment. However, I can inform you of its aesthetics, how well it freshens the air, and its noise level. Aesthetics ----------- The Germ Guardian looks great. It has a soft blue light ring (reminds me of the ring doorbell). It is a bit larger but I am able still able to use both sockets of my outlet so long as the Germ Guarding is plugged into the top socket. The socket does not rotate so you can only have it arranged vertically. Because of its weight, I don't know if I would try it with horizontal sockets. The socket should fit all US outlets. Air Freshness ---------------- I can smell the ionized air if I am within a few feet of it. It is currently in my 12x10 ft bedroom and there are no odors in the room. The air smells crisp - when I open my bedroom door - after I have been away for a few days. This seems to indicate the device works and would perform even better in a small room. I'm satisfied that the Germ Guardian is working as advertised. Noise Level -------------- I have sensitive ears so most people may not have issues. The device is loud. For me, it is very loud. It is louder than my much larger Coway air filter. I often need to unplug it when watching television in my bedroom. This does turn into an advantage at night or when trying to sleep, as I am the type that appreciates white noise. Conclusion ------------- The Germ Guardian is peace of mind during flu season and especially now with COVID. It does freshen the air but will perform best in smaller rooms. The device is large but still looks great. The device is loud and sounds like an overheated CPU fan.

I was a bit suspicious that a small fan and UV light could knock out nasty odors and germs but I after trying all sorts of other solutions I finally opted for this. the bad is it isn't as cheap as a can of odor spray. the excellent is that this product knocked out nasty smells and without me having mask odors and introduce a bunch of questionable chemicals into the household. I do not know how long the UV bulb lasts in real time but honestly for people who are chemically sensitive and can't stand to breathe in the various odor remover in a can products, I can say this works...at least in a room that was 10x14. I don't know and haven't tried it in larger rooms. Also, I have no way of testing germ removal ability but I can say the air smells "fresh." Looking forward to buying another one for another stinky room in the near future. Despite the initial cost, this seems to be a good value for your $ since you just plug it in and forget about it and not have to be always spraying chemical odor neutralizer into the air!

I really liked this product until it stopped working and trying to use my 1 year warranty was impossible. I bought this in September and about mid February I noticed the light was no longer shining. I read it would blink when it needed to be changed. Well it never did start blinking at me but the fan was still blowing even though the light was out. So I figured I just needed to change the bulb. I bought replacement bulbs for it. I did some reading and found you can buy the Germ Guardian specific bulbs for twice as much or you can buy the exact same type of bulb that's not GermGuardian for half the price. Well not only did the new bulbs not work, but the fan wouldn't even blow with the new bulbs. When I put in the original bulb it came with the fan would blow without the light coming on. Which tells me you have to buy their over prices specific bulb or it won't work, even though I read numerous places it didn't matter. So I attempted to call customer service as they have a number in the owners manual and it states there's a 1 year warranty. I got a message saying they were closed and stating their business hours, even though I called during their business hours. In the message saying they were closed it said to visit their website so I did. Welp, their website showed an error. So I attempted to get a hold of customer through Amazon, but when clicking on it, it saod customer service isn't available for this product. It's only a $40 product so not a huge loss. The frustration comes from the false advertising of offering a warranty you can't redeem and a faulty product that only works with their overpriced name brand materials. As well as no way of contacting customer service about the problem. Maybe I just got a faulty model. As there are tons of great reviews on this product. None the less my experience with this product and company was less than satisfactory.

Si vives en algún lugar en un ambiente muy húmedo, el moho tiende a construir. Esto es lo perfecto para un dormitorio o un gran trastero. Tengo 3 de estos ahora y me encanta que no haya más moho ni mal olor provenientes del condominio en México y que nuestros allegados no tengan más bebedores ni problemas debido al ambiente húmedo.

Excelente contra las alergias al ácaro y esporas de moho. Con 1h por la mañana y otra en la tarde por habitación es suficiente (adjuntar recipiente con agua). O sea que teóricamente con un solo aparato sería suficiente. Desgraciadamente es frágil como para andarlo moviendo. A mi me funciona perfectamente como metodo alternativo en lugar de los antihistáminicos. Nota: no trae cable para recarga USB.

Es eficiente y quita los malos olores. Hace un poco de ruido pero no es molesto. El area que cubre es algo pequeño, en el negocio requerimos dos para los banos grandes, pero elimina bien los olores son los molestos perfumes.

Necesario en casa
