Excellent product. The indexing is subtle, which is okay by me. I mainly bought the rotator for use with a tilt head so I wouldn't have to spend almost $400 for a new head. Well made and light. Recommended.

Haven't taken my DDP-64SI apart to check, but this feels smooth enough to be on lubricated bearings like the description says. Nice black finish with sharp engraving. The base is numbered every 15 degrees from 0 to 345, with marks at every 2.5 degrees. The four detent intervals that can be selected are not what is in the description on Amazon. The photo is correct, showing 8, 12, 15, and 18 degrees.The detent interval holes are chamfered and the indexing knob can easily be changed from one interval to another. All four of the detent intervals have a detent at the 0 mark, but you don't have to start there. The detents are easy to feel as the rotator is turned and they get easier to feel as the indexing knob is tightened until a point is reached where the rotator can't be turned. There is a little play in the rotator if the indexing knob is too loose, but it is easy to find the point that gives the easiest rotation without any play. A click can be heard at each detent. It's not a loud click that anyone would notice but I have no problem hearing it.The large knob that locks the rotator can be repositioned as necessary by pulling out on the knob and turning it to the desired position. A Arca Swiss P0 is mounted on my rotator. I can't see the knob position being a problem with it, but a nice option.The rotator is threaded for a 3/8" post, and a 1/4" post is screwed into the top. A 3/8" adapter is included. Instructions are included, but they are incorrect like the description on Amazon. Not a real problem.The only possible problem I have found using the rotator is when doing a panorama using my Nikon 85mm f/1.8 on the D7000, about 18 degree angle of view I think. Using the 8 degree detent interval, the smallest, and the camera in the vertical position, gives maybe 20% overlap. Probably will not be a problem, just one thing I hadn't thought of. Should still give me better panoramas than what I have been getting by hand, especially the multi row ones, and with very little additional weight for backpacking.

I bought this to mount permanently on my Sky Tracker wedge to make horizontal adjust for polar alignment easy when installing onto a leveled tripod base. Having this means that I'm not at the mercy of where the wedge ends up pointing after being screwed onto the tripod......I just tighten the assembly down then use the rotator to align the tracker to north and then perform polar alignment with the tracker. Easy peasy! Very nice product.

This is a good product for Pano. I do more Milky Way Panos where I blend the blue hour pano with the Milky Way pano. So far, the two Panos have aligned pretty good. Using this product also gives a sense of confidence too that none of the in between shots on the Pano is missed.The small size of this rotator allowed me to put it on my tripod permanently. Good tool overall.

Heavy, very well constructed. I use if for panoramic photography.

The unit drags in spots when rotating. Clicks are not very evident. The cable that retains the clicker screw (to prevent loss) came apart so the screw is no longer affixed to the base. Plus, the rotation ring is loose enough that the camera can tilt up and down a few degrees. Took it apart and there is NO adjustment.Poor construction and no quality control. Very disappointing.

Solid well built

Never returned an item so quickly after opening it. After using it for five minutes, the spring and metal bearing pushed itself out of the top of the screw (see attached photo). Never even made it onto my tripod.Two stars because in the five minutes I was using it, it did work and it came in nice protective foam packaging.
