Daytona Fire 95% Tungsten Steel Tip Darts by Target

Just got these darts tonight and my first impressions are almost all positive.When you open the packaging, you can tell that Target clearly intended this to be their flagship dart. The presentation is unnecessary, but is a nice touch. Also comes with a few replacement pieces and flight protectors.One of the best parts about new darts is that photos online never do the intricacies justice. When you see how small the dart actually is in your hand, you see how precise the machining process has to be. These darts are very aesthetically pleasing.The grip is great. The trapezoidal stippling on the barrel is so fine that it creates the feeling similar to a sandpaper. If you like grippy barrels, these will suit you. Target refers to the barrels as providing a “sophisticated grip”. Sounds appropriate as it’s a bit unique from other darts with similar grip levels.The only thing I do not like about these right out of the box is the grooved storm points, and that seems to be a common opinion. I just cringe when pulling these out of my board. Luckily new points aren’t expensive. Maybe the grooved points would be a nice option if you were shooting at a more beat up board in a bar.The shape is going to be a bit of a learning curve for me, because I am more used to torpedo-style barrels that taper off towards the rear. I’m also used to throwing a much shorter dart. All of the little personal preferences aside, once I found my grip point for the way I like a dart balanced in my hand, these became much more comfortable. I’ll definitely be practicing much more with these.Target never fails to produce an impressive product.

Awesome darts, great packaging. Very stable but I don't care for the points/tips I have ordered the smooth storm points to swap them out.I have and will continue to recommend these to others.

AWESOME Dart sets. The Trapezoidal Prism Grip is second to none for total control of the Dart no matter what type of grip you use. These Darts are well balanced and the 95% Tungsten gives them that total quality feel. I highly recommend the Daytona Fire Dart sets.

I have purchased about 15 sets of target darts. Most of them are acceptable, but the Daytona Fire darts are worthless. These darts are actually slipperier the way they come than if they had been machined with a smooth finish. I got so frustrated with the fact that a proper grip cannot be had, even with pine tar on my fingers, that I threw these darts as hard as I could into my hardwood floor, bending the crappy tips all to hell. What really surprised me is the the barrels bent as well. So, into the trash these darts have gone, along with the stupid looking box they came in, not to mention the useless flights that came with this useless set of darts. One word alone describes these darts adequately: trash.

When I started throwing them the grip was amazing now after 2 seasons of use all of the grip is gone ! I wonder if they offer replacement barrels ?
