2 PCS Kitchen Sink Drain Strainer Replacement for 3-1/2 Inch Standard Drain, Basket Rubber Stopper, 304 Stainless Steel Brushed Nickel Metal Knob

I took a chance and bought 2 of these to replace the one sink strainer in my Ruvati SS Sink that I purchased through Amazon 5 years earlier. Since I live in a rural environment, I can't use a garbage disposal unit in conjunction with my septic tank. So these strainers trap all the food waste which then is emptied in the trash can. Somehow, one got thrown away by accident. The extra one is for the next time that happens. They fit perfectly in the strainer basket hole and duplicate the original perfectly. They are made with the same quality SS materials and and have the same lift handle as the original. The cost was less than half of what I would have had to pay Ruvati for a single replacement unit. I would definitely buy them again if I am stupid enough to throw them in the trash without paying attention.

Was so sick of flimsy drain strainers. Glad I paid to have these heavy duty ones. The down side is that you can't pop them up or down to drain or seal a sink, you have to fit the tongue in just right to seal the sink, and pull the thing out partially (crooked) or totally to drain the sink. The stem comes lose from the rubber thing sometimes but you just have to press it back in place. These are sturdy and should last a lifetime.

Where has this thing been all our life? We have a septic system so it is not recommended that one installs a garbage disposal. Still, my family tries to put food down the drain which then clog the system. Enter this awesome thing and it catches pretty much everything they try to rinse off their plates. Be aware that it will set your under sink plumbing down a couple more inches than normal, so you need to adapt for that.

I was skeptical when I opened the package, as these stoppers have a more shallow "basket" and the stem in the center is fixed. It is the best, most sturdy sink stopper I've ever used. I won't go back to buying the other type from the grocery store or big box store as long as these are available on Amazon. Absolutely no leaks.

Installed this in a new composite granite sink and it is a perfect fit. The only thing to watch out for is that the new sink has a deeper bowl and this extends lower than a standard strainer, so you have to watch the drain plumbing being low enough coming out of the rear wall. I had to cut about 1/4" of the threaded bottom of this to just barely have enough vertical room to install the trap and line to the garbage disposal.

Passes the magnet test, only slight magnetism which correlates with the merchant's claim of 304 grade. Will be using in a saltwater sink so I will be able to tell if it's quality stainless- likely not but so cheap it's consumable. Happy because the threading is infact 1.5 inch pipe, and will work with said fittings, unlike other sink drains with rolled metal threading. Plastic is a plus. Strainer looks nice and cap has a positive seating. Pictured includes a generic 304 1.5 to 1.25 neck, with a 316 1.25 dixon hose barb. Confident this setup will not sink my boat (maybe)

I ordered because of the quality of the materials it was made of. At first the stopper would not hold water...it seemed to be too rigid and didn't quite sit low enough in the drain to seal. I pulled the rubber stopper down a little away from the basket and that remedied the issue perfectly! The stopper will now hold water forever without gradually seeping away. I am happy with my purchase and I'm sure they will serve me well for a long time.

The media could not be loaded.  Value for your money, especially with the added strainer! Works great to catch everything you don’t want going down the drain! It doesn’t cost much more than what a normal drain assembly would either! I have these in both my kitchen and laundry room sinks and would recommend them to anyone!
