Horrible Condition
The item came with way more then slight wear to the box. It had been opened and the head of Odin was broken off. It was not "New" is any sense of the word.

Absolutely not for play
I purchased this figure as a collector of Final Fantasy figures. I have had Bahamut and Ultima Weapon from this same series of FFVIII figures for years and was relatively pleased with both of them. I received this one in the mail and immediately after removing it from the box, Odin's leg AND head both snapped off completely when simply trying to move them. The figure has articulation in quite a few places, including the head and multiple places on the arms and legs, but the quality of the figure is rather shoddy, and as such, the head and left leg are now permanently detached from the body after light movement. As the figure was for display, I simply wished to move the legs and head into a position so he could sit on the horse, but due to the rather poor quality of the joints, both were not even able to do that without breaking. The same thing happened to my Bahamut figure from the same collection. The horse has no points of articulation, which works to the figure's advantage considering how if it had been articulated, it very well may have broken as well. Both Odin and the horse are very nice looking figures and Odin's sword does, in fact, fit into his hand grip very well. Ultimately, I would recommend this set to collectors of Final Fantasy figures, but advise that you be very careful when moving the parts. Once they are in place, they probably should not be touched again, which goes for pretty much every figure from this line. They are only suitable for display on a shelf, not to be played with by children. I simply cannot give this a 5 star rating considering the poor quality of the joints and how easily the limbs can break off, but the figures are detailed and look great as a display piece nonetheless.
