The Three Stages of Initiatic Spirituality: Craftsman, Warrior, Magician

It's a great book for men in the initiatic tradition.
My one and only criticism of this book is that it is solely made for men and that should be clearly stated. Angel Millar relates a lot of his initiatic material to his version of Freemasonry, which dominates the Anglo-American landscape; the standard all - male social club. I belong to the opposite tradition which is open to both men and women (as the original Masonic lodges were open to both until Anderson's Constitutions halted that in the 1700s). Because he has been involved with such a male - only, male - focused tradition for so long, this book on the Western Esoteric Tradition is exclusively made for males which I find a little unfortunate.Aside from that, if you are male and you like your initiatic training to be devoid of the feminine archetype, then this is a great book. It could be argued that in today's society there should be some room for male - exclusivity in the esoteric tradition. What Angel does amazingly well is to illustrate his points of the three - pronged craft initiatic system (apprentice, fellow/companion, master) as being applicable to the male archetypes of the craftsman, the warrior and the magician. Angel is a very gifted writer and presents his points lucidly, bringing his knowledge of various systems into focus.

A worthwhile read for anyone interested in the mystery tradition.
Well written and thought provoking. Angel Millar had a wonderful gift for taking broad ideas and distilling them down in a manner that is easy to understand. I particularly appreciate the bibliography and citations as they afford the opportunity for further reading.

Amazing piece of work
I thought craftsman, warrior magician was a masterpiece. Especially for those of us digging into the esoteric aspect side of things. Not just for Masonic initiations but for those undergoing life transitionings as a whole. Thank you so much for compiling this work and sharing it with all of us. It truly is amazing.

Not just for Freemasons, the hidden in plain sight.
I have followed Angel Millar for years. I first was introduced to his work it was during a conference in Massachusetts. As far as The Three Stages of Initiatic Sprituality publication. I am only five chapters in. I will update after completion. The first five Chapters contain so much information, you may need to slow down, although you want to continue, obsorbing the information located within the text. I find Angel has a tendency to lean towards Sufism, which is a refreshing view. He does brush against Freemasonry and its ideas, but so much more can be found in all of works. Esoteric Knowlesge is openly wrote about, within the pages. I do not want you to feel that this a publication for Freemasons only. There is so much information located within. If you are looking for a quick read, this is it. If you are looking for the hidden in plain sight read, it is here.I can not give enough praise and gratitude towards Angel Millar. He is able to push the Esoteric in a new direction, that most Authors no longer pursue. If you are looking for insight on the man, I would suggest Angel Millar. There are few modern Occultist/Alchemist I follow. Angel will show you the hidden if you look.I would highly suggest and praise this book

A book.to ponder!
Should you read this book? if you want to have your thoughts challenged you should. As a Freemason & Rosicrucian I was fascinated by the title and the contents did.not disappoint. Many ideas were expressed and organised thematically so the links could be seen. So I now have even more questions . . . but this is the way it should be.A great book, an easy read, but a challenging view. Recommended without doubt
