She did it again! (In a good way...)
So happy Melissa Richardson has written another cookbook! I feel like any failings are purely my own since I'm the resident yeast farmer and am still learning, but I love the variety in this new cookbook. The protein loaf with chia is great. I recommend purchasing her first book, The Art of Baking with Natural Yeast, if you are new to the process, but this book has additional advice, clear photos of what successful yeast looks like and the bonus of a visual key to recipes. It's easy to find a recipe based upon how much time you'll need to invest in it. We love (LOVE) her muffin recipes and are so excited to try the graham crackers.I'll be forever grateful for her research that validated what I knew in my head and heart - God would not cover the earth in a grain that we cannot eat. Soaking and the right preparation is answer and I'm so thankful to have found her as a resource for our gluten-intolerant family.

Amazing, beautiful, and delicious.
This cookbook is fabulous! It's beautifully written and designed with pictures for every recipe. (Isn't that the way a cookbook should be written?) She also includes helpful tips and the recipes are very easy to follow. I'm absolutely loving the new time saving recipes; recipes that you don't have to soak overnight, you just use start and cook. Every recipe of Melissa's I've every tried has been divine. If you haven't used natural yeast before, I'd suggest starting with her other cookbook first. Great assortment of creative recipes!
I have the previous book (The Art of Baking With Natural Yeast), and have been baking on and off with natural yeast for a couple of years. I was very much looking forward to this second installment and had it pre-ordered from the first day it was available. In anticipation of it's arrival, I built up my starter, and was ready dig in. I've had the book for one day and have already made three of the recipes. The carrot cake waffles were a big hit for breakfast. The Lemon Poppyseed muffins were amazing for an after school snack, and they disappeared in just a few minutes. And finally, I made the Pita Bread and filled the pockets with chicken salad for dinner, and they were perfection. Tomorrow I'll move on to a couple of quickies-- the Cheesy Crackers and the Granola Bar Cookies. Then after the flour dust cloud dissipates in a couple of days (really- you should see the mess I made today!) I will try Pasta, a few more cracker recipes, and the Mango Strawberry Chiffon cake. I am thrilled with the variety and assortment of recipes in this new book. Natural yeast is something I've been working on because of the health benefits, and I am so happy to have a bigger assortment of tried and true recipes to use-- not just for breads, but pasta?? Gravy?? Yay!!One note-- if you are a beginner at using natural yeast, please make sure you also purchase (or borrow) the first book to get all the details on getting started. This book is definitely a sequel and assumes you know what happened in the first story. :) If you have a good start going already, and are just looking for new ways to use it, then this book is definitely for you!

Great cooking
This is another great cookbook, to follow her first! I have made several recipes already and have loved each one. Natural yeast fills you up quickly, is helping me lose weight while enjoying my carbs, but more importantly is helping me feel healthier! A must have book for those willing to work with a natural yeast.

Converted a sourdough skeptic.
We love this book. It has become a staple in our kitchen. I used to hate sourdough breads, but the recipes in this book, and the simple instructions for keeping sourdough going have been a godsend. Delicious recipes. We do the pancakes at least once a week! We have gifted the book to friends and family because of how much we have enjoyed it.

The two books though are fantastic. I have two starters going
Make sure you buy her first yeast cookbook before this one. This is really the companion. The two books though are fantastic. I have two starters going, both from scratch. The breads are coming out fantastic. Made some good waffles as well. We have also moved to grinding our own flour.
