My Review:Wow...I liked this book, but I didn't expect it to be as deep as it was.The story begins with Eli as he's trying to adjust to civilian life and find a job after leaving the Marines. He'd saved every penny during the last 6-8 years of service only to discover that his parents stole every cent of it while he was overseas. My heart hurt for Eli as the weeks go by and his self-worth drops just as quickly as his meager bank account. The hard thing about this story was how easy it was to see something like this happening. He runs into Royce, a middle aged Vet who gives him a ride, at Wal-Mart. When Royce hears Eli's story, he gives him a card and an opportunity. Gay for pay porn. His site specializes in military men...usually straight...acting out gay fantasy videos. Eli says no way, but as things become more and more bleak, he becomes more and more willing to compromise his morals. It's either that or live on the street. The first guy he meets on the job is Hamish. Hamish has been with the company for a while and he takes Eli under his wing and they quickly become friends. In fact, all these guys are friends. I don't know how realistic it is, but I loved that whole aspect of the video company. Guys view sex as just that...it's a physical act, not emotional for them and that's the way they view what they are doing. It's just sex and they are all doing this to support their families so they support each other without judgement. But I also really loved how Hamish and Eli formed this incredibly strong friendship first. In fact, for Eli there isn't really much of an attraction there at all. He is straight, but this is a great gay-for-you story.I have to admit that I have a weakness for m/m books that feature porn careers, but this was truly a great one. I loved both these characters...Eli for the difficulties and vulnerabilities he has regardless of his hot, alpha persona and Hamish for being just such an all-around good guy. I could see myself liking both of them completely in real life. They felt real and even with the bizarre circumstances, the story line felt true. I liked it...a LOT! A definite recommend from me especially if you're like me and like military/porn star themes.

A story with a good message
I have to agree that the story wasn't enhanced by the crazy stalker angle at the end. I think another plot device to keep the characters together would have been much better. But I enjoyed the book for the most part. Yes the ending became a little cheesy but wasn't that bad. There was lots of sex but that's the point of the story. I've only read one other book of Mr. Cade's and it was just okay. This one at least made me think a little. What I liked was the point I think Mr. Cade was trying to make. Or at least my interpretation of it. The characters were "straight" guys having sex with each other. Eli found himself falling for Hamish and the sex turned into lovemaking. Eli then allowed himself to get hung up on the gay label. Like too many so-called straight men, he equates being gay to being wrong or bad. I think that the message here is that sex is sex, no matter who's involved and love is what truly matters. Society, religion and culture continue to promote and reinforce negative reactions to anyone who's not acting the way they want or expect.

First rate!
This was one fantastic story. It speaks the sad truth about the returning vets who can't find their way back from the horrors of war to civilian life. They've sacrificed so much for us and to not be able to find jobs or especially the help they need to reenter society speaks volumes about the government's indifferent. It's shameful. The men in this story found a way to support themselves and their loved ones. While unusual, it speaks to the dedication and pride they hold dear. The explanations for doing what didn't come naturally to them was thoughtful and so believable. Sex is just that...Sex. Does it really matter who it's with as long as it is safe and consensual? No.This was a very well written story. It's thought provoking and I highly recommend it. I know I will be reading it again.Well done!

This book was very different to what I had expected and was totally drawn into the MCs lives and story. The Author did a brilliant job of introducing the reader to the gay-for-pay porn world and made it very believable. The MCs were lovely and I enjoyed their developing relationship which seemed natural and unhurried. The only downside to this book for me was that I felt it finished it a bit abruptly, but to be honest I could have spent another 300-400 pages with these characters and would have still been asking for more, so I can’t really blame the Author for that.A very enjoyable read and I highly recommend it.

Hooked from start to finish!
I found this book by coincidence when I visited Between the Covers with Scotty & Jo, SJD Peterson`s blogspot. In the description, it looked interesting and the kind of story I usually enjoy. Bought it on release day, and it didn't disappoint! When I started reading, I couldn't put it down. To keep my attention can be hard, and I get easily bored. But this one did, and it only took me hours to finish it. And because of that, it's worth 5 stars in my book! This is the first book I've read from this author. And I'll come back for more. Conclusion: Bought it, read it, loved it. And I recommend it.

Interest take on a common fantasy
This was a bit of an oddball topic for M/M romance, but I certainly enjoyed it. I found it hot. I don't think I can say much more about that in an open review like this. The main characters were fairly well developed but perhaps a bit stereotypical. It depends upon what you're looking for in M/M romance as to whether you would enjoy this or not.

Lame resolution of a potentially good story! It lost its way.
Given all the research the author claimed he did, I would have expected a REALISTIC jeopardy for his MC's that challenges the perpetuated belief that Gay-for-Pay doesn't have any real social and psychological consequences for the hired video sex workers, especially given the PERMANENCY, video, of the choices these guys make all in the name of money, fun, exhibitionism. The contrived in harms way for the MC's didn't ring to be authentic given the seriousness and quality of the writing up to that point. And the weak resolution of the internal conflict of Eli was lame!

So much stream! It's so hot!
[edit]I love Scotty Cade books, so I thought I would give this a go. I've read a book on the same lines before and I really enjoyed it, this one was just as good.In this book we meet Eli, a marine who has just finished 8 years of service. He came home to find out that he was broke, his parents has spend all the money he had saved. He was running and of money and desperate. He meets Royce who owns a gay military porn site, but all the men are straight. He doesn't agree at first, but he gets desperate and decides to give it a go. He really struggles with everything that he is doing with the other men. He can't get around that in his head that only gay men do that, not straight me in his eyes. It was nice seeing him come around with the help of Hamish.Hamish is also an ex-marine. He was desperate for money to help his brother with his medical bills and college. He was my favourite out of the two, he was more open to everything and it was lively to see. He helped Eli when he was feeling confused and needed help. He is such a kind caring person, he only wants to do his best for his brother. The chemistry between the two is off the charts as seen by their first scene together. You could tell there was real emotion there and not acting. The scenes more hot and some of the best I've seen. Everytime they are together they are so hot and it just makes you want more of them. The connection between the two was amazing, but poor Eli when he started to realise his own feelings. He really struggled. I loved Royce, and I so wished he got a happy ending of his own. I wanted to know so much more about him. I loved the camaraderie between the guys. All the sex scenes between them all in the book were amazing! The stalker bit was a good bit to add, but it was wrapped up so quickly. Never would of guessed who it was, but it seemed pretty rushed. I liked them together and was routing for them. So I was happy with the ending. But it left me wanting more, and to see how their doing now. So wish we had an extra chapter, or an epilogue to really round things off, and tie up what happened to the stalker. Just wish for that, but I still loved the book overall. Just a bit of an abrupt ending

Military men doing porn .... what more do you need?
I think Scotty Cade should be thanked for doing all the tireless research to get the background for this story - it was a tough job and someone had to do it!!What his research produced was a hot story about gay for pay ex-military men who make gay porn for a living. Within that environment two of those men, Eli and Hamish, find a connection that goes beyond friendship. My only issue with the book was that Eli went from gay virgin to sex machine so fast it made my head spin! I would have expected a little more thought before moving from solo acts to full and group sex . Expanding this section would also have allowed the stalker story to be made more threatening and would also have created the opportunity for more hot and steamy scenes between Hamish and Eli.I did enjoy this book, but I think I need to just check Scotty's research .......
