The simplest way to control the tension is this: Hold the smaller diameter rod in your right hand and the larger diameter rod in your left hand. (I was careful not to take the rod apart since I didn't want to mess with the way they were put together). Now, holding the right hand steady on the smaller rod in a grip like you would use on a chin-up bar, if you twist the small bar forward away from yourself (counterclockwise rotation) this tightens the tension and locks the bar at whatever length it is at that time. To loosen the tension so that the length can be changed, again with your left hand gripping the large bar, you grip the smaller bar with the right hand and twist the smaller bar towards yourself (clockwise rotation). The small bar is the one you twist. You just have to remember away from you tightens, towards you loosens. I did not have to twist more than a few turns to lock or release the tension.Once I determined the length the rod would be when it was installed, I marked right where the plastic sleeve on the large rod came to on the small rod. I used a very fine point sharpie and made a very short line. Then I loosened the tension and lengthened the rod a little, and made a second mark on the small rod 1 inch past the first mark. Finally, I set the smaller rod back to the second mark and tightened the tension, locking the bar at that length. I chose to do it this way because it's awkward trying to guesstimate that extra inch of length needed to be able to compress just enough to put the bar in place but still fit tightly. If you mark it laying flat on the floor or a table, you can get it adjusted more easily than wrestling with it over your head. My rod is white so it was easy to mark and place it so the marks don't show.I like the rod. It is substantial, with a good quality finish out of the box. It looks nice in my shower and feels nice and snug.

So decided to stop complaining and I bought this an oversized curtain in place of doors for now. I didnt want damage the wall, so I decided to buy a tension rod. After reading some of the reviews, I was nervous that it wouldnt hold the 100W x 108L curtain, but for the price I decided it was worth a shot. This tension rod is fantastic! I had no problems putting it up as some others had. I just followed the directions and it was up in 3 mins!! It's been up for a month with no problems. It's holding a super heavy curtain and with lots of use all day long. I am very pleased and recommend this product!Update: The bad news is, I still have no closet door from my husband. The GOOD news is, this tension rod is still going strong! I half expected something to happen since there were a TON of negative reviews, but this rod has completely exceeded my expectations. As stated above, it is used to hold a super heavy duty blackout curtain for a 6' Wx 8'.5"H area. The curtain is used as a closet door, which gets lots of use all day long. The tension rod has NOT moved, NOT even a little. I'm super impressed with this rod and wouldn't believe any of the negative reviews. I followed the instructions to the tee. although I did not hear a click, I made sure I twisted it enough to ensure that it was set in place. Un tubo muy práctico y muy útil para utilizarlo en tu baño. Los materiales son firmes y de buena calidad a un precio bueno. Muy recomendable para clientes que buscan funcionalidad y calidad pero queda corto si lo que buscas es lujo o elegancia.

Barra con buen acabado, bonita y muy fácil de poner. La puse a la primera, luego para colgar la cortina la quité y la volví a poner y se puede rectificar sin ningún problema. No deja ninguna marca en la pared. Estuve leyendo las reseñas y me tomé muy en serio lo de seguir las instrucciones, que no pueden ser más sencilla. Muy satisfecha.

Het was de eerste keer dat ik zo een stang gebruikte, maar viel goed mee. Even de handleiding gelezen en paar seconden later stak ze op haar plaats. De stang voelt stevig aan en heeft ook nog een elegant design. Goede kwaliteit en mooi product.

Jag använder tyglängd istället för dörr in till mitt sovrum så katterna kan gå ut och in som de vill, men jag har ändå privacy. Jag har hängt tyglängden på den här DuschStången som går att spänna upp i dörröppningen för att slippa borra hål. Stången är snygg och lätt att använda samt lätt att ändra stlk.
