Great solution for slippery seats
I have a desk chair which is comfortable, however when I lean back the seat cover lacks the friction to hold my bottom in place, so I slide forward -- which is not good for my posture, and my lower back suffers as a result. I looked around for an existing anti-slip pad for seats and found nothing. Broadening my search, I found this rug underlay -- pretty inexpensive, and easily customized to the seat. I cut it to fit my seat cushion -- just laying it on top, with the edges trimmed so that it lies a couple inches inside the boundary of the cushion, with the flat surface on top. It works great -- stops the slip, doesn't seem to bunch-up, and it's an open mesh so that it breathes (it's not like sitting on top of a sheet of plastic). It also doesn't show a tendency to leave any residue behind on my seat or pants. I'm looking forward to carrying a piece of this on an airplane the next time I fly, as I have a similar problem with airline seats. Incidentally, there's enough material here for at least 4 seat bottoms, perhaps twice that for smaller seats.

NOT Effective on wet surfaces
DO NOT USE these anywhere that gets wet, i.e. bathroom tiles, mud room entryway, etc. They work very well when the floor is dry, which is why I'm giving them 2 instead of 1 star. BUT, when just a little water gets underneath them, their anti-slip properties are near zero. We used them in our bathroom under the mat you step onto when you get out of the shower and they caused us to slip and fall several times before we finally threw them out. Very unsafe in wet areas.

This worked so much better for me than that terrible tape stuff
This product works well on my hardwood floors to keep my rugs from sliding around. I am actually looking at purchasing a couple more rolls. This worked so much better for me than that terrible tape stuff!

Rug still slides on my tile floor with pad under it. Fell on my bum getting out of the shower the other day. Not using it anymore.
