Columbia Men's Backcast Iii Water Short

My husband has gone through his fair share of water shorts, but these shorts have earned a permanent spot in his rotation. They’re lightweight, quick-drying, and surprisingly durable, even after countless washes and beach trips. The fit is comfortable without being baggy, and the fabric holds up beautifully whether he’s fishing, kayaking, or just lounging by the pool. If there’s one small note, it’s that the sizing runs just a touch roomy, so if you’re between sizes, you might want to size down. Other than that, these shorts check all the boxes: breathable, functional, and stylish enough that he’s worn them off the dock too. In short, these are the kind of shorts you end up buying in multiples because once you try them, you realize they’re the summer staple you didn’t know you needed.

I was torn between splurging the extra 30+ (!) dollars to upgrade to patagonia baggies, but decided against it and am completely satisfied nontheless. It took a few tries to get the right size, though: I'm 6'2, 205lbs and usually buy a 32 waist but with athletic shorts and the like the often have to size up. I strongly advise against sizing up, the mediums fit perfectly on me and the 6'' inseam is a nice length to get those cooling breezes wafting up into the nether regions. Though they are marketed as "water shorts" which I take to mean a fancy word for "swin suit" I just wear them as normal shorts. I cut out the inner lining and wear them with boxers on hot days, they don't get sweaty or worn out like cotton shorts do and are nice and lightweight without feeling too flimsy. My only complaint is that the pockets are a bit too big in that if I put something too heavy (i.e. phone or keys + headphones case) they get mighty close to peeking out underneath the bottom of the shorts and really have no business being that large to begin with. Zipper pocket on the back means I can keep my wallet back there and have it feel secure, too which is a ncie plus. Do note that these shorts are a little on the baggy side, which actually I prefer because I have quads on the larger side from squats and these allow for plenty of movement. I recently decided to buy a few more pairs based on how much I liked my first and these are almost certainly going to be my go-to summer legwear for quite a while.

Fit loose just like I like them. Love the color. Priced right. Can’t beat Columbia for price and wear.

Excellent pair of men's shorts that look good, proper fit, water repellant, great rang of colors, and excellent pockets. I have four pairs to date, and will definitely continue to order these shorts....since I wear them all year round in North Carolina.

These are great swim trunks and also great to wear as shorts. They are super lightweight and comfortable. They dry incredibly fast and my husband loves to wear them during the summertime since they breathe very well and aren't heavy. He also loves to take it traveling on vacation because it packs light and he can wash it in the hotel and it will dry super quick without looking wrinkly. He also loves wearing these camping for the same reasons. It gives good movement and the elastic waistband is very comfortable. The shorts fit as expected but it's very wide and baggy so it looks big, if that makes sense.

I basically live in these shorts. the inner liner, similar to a bathing suit, wicks away the perspiration and provides some support. I live in hot humid Florida and these are a lifesaver. They dry quickly. I do recommend you line dry them or the elastic gives out pretty quickly if you dry in a clothes dryer. Great product!

Great knock around shorts. Hard to find shorts like these that have deep enough front pockets. I can put my 6.5 inch screen phone in one front pocket, my keys, coins and Swiss Army knife in the other, my wallet in the back pocket and all that 'stuff' stays put getting in and out of car etc. Can empty pockets, jump in swim pool and material dries quickly afterwards. If you're not sure if you're medium or large, medium is prolly your best bet. I am 6 ft, 190 and medium works for knockin round town, strenuous yoga, boating, etc. Although the pockets are well done, it'd be great if they also made it so the front's are also zippered for travel in areas where there are pick pockets or if you're climbing at sharp angles. That said, I haven't found any shorts that beat these and they're especially good in hot weather.

My go to shorts all summer long. The blue color looks like the photos. The material is light weight but durable. It has mesh lined pockets that drain easily when in and out of the water.

Como siempre Columbia haciendo productos de calidad y con buen estilo, compre el short negro, me queda arriba de las rodillas pero tampoco tan arriba como para considerarlo muy corto, se siente cómodo y se ve bien, lo recomiendo. El único pero que le pongo es que mi short en la parte de abajo no dice "omni-shade" como lo presentan en la publicación, sin embargo, no dudo que el short sea original, ademas venia con todos sus etiquetados.

Excellent swimming shorts. It's comfortable, has netting inside of it and also has pockets. The size I ordered was perfect for me and the price (19.20€) was a good surprise.

These are the best shorts for summer....can be worn to play golf, swim or just for everyday use. I have 3 pairs that I wear throughout the summer. Highly recommended.
