A solid book, but not as useful as the (cheaper) anthology that Krippner edited _Dreamtime and Dreamwork_. Much of the methodology is repeated from section to section. For a serious dreamworker, however this book deserves a place on his/her shelf.

The expert authors take a broad-based, open-minded, humanistic approach in this overview of several types of dreams that can be considered out-of-the-ordinary, including lucid, psi, spiritual and more -- even false awakenings. They consider the general significance of each type of dream from multicultural and multidisciplinary perspectives, present relevant research findings along with fascinating illustrative anecdotes, then conclude each chapter with suggested methods -- from respected psychologists -- for exploring one's own extraordinary dreams for individual meaning and personal growth opportunities. That's the "how to work with them" promised by the title. A well done book on 'extraordinary' dreams, such as prophetic, clairvoyant, and 'other worldly' subjects.Not hokey in any way, in spite of the 'extraordinary' subject matter.

This book is on my list of 10 books about dreaming you should definitly read.I bought it several years ago and it is still a valuable source of informationfor me. This book is a wonderful find. Many of us do have extraordinary dreams and need help to understand them. I have sent this book to others who were concerned. Some dreams are actually telepathic, not subconscious worries. Some dreams involve spirits, and some spirits wish to communicate with us. This is not generally accepted in most older ideas of psychology or physics.
