SQUEAKY?? Wish I'd seen that it was "Faux" wool >_< (Note: I fixed the squeak - sewing required)
So I wanted an actual wool hat... This is what I get for shopping in bed past time for sleeping. I see now that it's "FAUX" wool... Ok... My mistake. I could live with that and not give a bad review. It was really packaged nicely, with an plastic insert to make sure the hat stayed in it's proper shape.Unfortunately, it also SQUEAKS. And I mean A LOT... when you feel the brim, it obviously has something inserted between the layers to keep the brim in the right shape. Unfortunately, it sounds like there are TWO sheets of molded plastic (apparently to make it firmer than one alone would have or possibly even by accident) and seriously the slightest touch causes this horrible creaking squeaking noise as those layers rub against each other. I don't see that going away with wear. We're not talking about squeaky leather on new shoes here that will decrease with wear. So if you are sensitive to sounds like that (I am, and it's not quiet either) do not buy this hat.I'll be kind and rate this with 3 stars. Partly because I didn't see it was "FAUX" wool... but also because it was packaged with care. It really is a pretty hat. The fabric has a vibrant color true to the color on the screen. Maybe I can un-stitch the brim and pull whatever that is OUT of it and restitch it myself to make it useful. At $12.99 it's not even worth the hassle of returning it. But kind of sad to feel like I'll have to look for another, or else deconstruct and remake it. The actual crown of the hat does not squeak, but is pretty firm, so I don't know what happened.Edit to add: Ok... about that squeak. Since I said it wasn't worth returning it, and because I really like how the hat looks even though it's not the desired wool hat (again, my fault for not noticing it was Faux wool). I did take a snipper and a seam ripper and pull a few stitches (about 3 inches) out of the edge of the brim so I could roll it back and look inside. What I found was not a plastic sheet as I expected. It was a 1.5 to 2 mm thick plastic "wire" just around that edge. I snipped it, and pulled it out. How that thing can make so much noise I do not know! lol. but it must have been rubbing against the backing of the 'faux' wool material.Anyway, once I had that ring of noise out of the brim, I found a spool of thread almost a perfect match, and sewed the edge back together. (in my case I actually just sewed all the way around and removed the original stitching since the thread wasn't that nice of a match. (Also I was too lazy to spend the time to adjust the stitch length to try to match the holes.) End result: my hat is now silent. Honestly I don't think it even needed that plastic wire around the outer edge. the material is plenty firm without it, and now if I wanted to roll it up in the back and wear if different ways I can.My final thoughts: It's a $13 hat. It's not wool. With a minimum of effort, I was able to remove the squeaker, and have a hat that won't make noise every time I move, that looks nice even though it's not really wool. It looks pretty well made otherwise, and you get what you pay for . Given that, I'm upgrading my overall rating to 4 stars, as it is a $13 after all.Advice to vendor/manufacturer. Just save the cost and leave that squeaky plastic wire out. It's not needed. It's noisy and annoying. The material seems sturdy enough without it, and who wants to wear a noisy squeaker on their head anyway?

Good hat
It is not “hard as a rock”. It is felt. It is not “squeaky”. It is felt. Where do people come up with this stuff 😂😂😂?It is not wool and does not claim to be. So why do people complain it isn’t wool? 🙄🙄It is stiff which I like because it keeps it’s form. It isn’t itchy wool and is therefore gentle on my fragile hair and sensitive skin. I personally wanted that. Not a super warm hat, but cute to cover your head on cooler bad-hair days.I like it!

Nice but not what I was looking for.
Very nice and good quality for the price. The size runs a little big and the fabric is stiff and more like a felt material. I recommend it but I was looking for wool or wool blend with more flexibility. Unfortunately I will be returning it.

Well made, stylish, fun.
Love the looks of this hat. Sits a little loose on my head right now, but should fit nicely when my hair grows back in. Because it's loose, it does bump around a little but not a serious problem. Would not be comfortable to recline or lay down in. You could probably put a head wrap underneath in case you wanted or needed to remove it. The hat is very stylish and could be worn for dress or casual occasions.

Oddly shaped hat.
I was so excited to get this hat! Unfortunately it is hard as a rock and not shaped well for my head. Normally a cloche is more floppy and less structured. The hat is cute but does not fit properly. Whomp.

Nice fit-too stiff
I like the look of this hat but it is very stiff/hard top. I expected a softer fabric style.

Occasionally wear not for every day
I like it, but it is not as soft as I would have liked. I wanted to be able to flip it up if I wanted to but I can’t. I bought it to wear every day when it is cold.
