Rain Forest Animals Mini Stained Glass Coloring Book (Dover Little Activity Books: Animals)

Fun, clever coloring book
These series of Stain Glass Coloring Books measure about 4.25" wide by 5.5" tall. They are eight velum like pages. The edges are not perforated so to display them against the light of a window, you'll want to cut them out for a clean edge. I first saw these at an art event at my daughter's elementary school. The art teacher had (removed the cover with a staple remover and with a paper cutter, cut them out of the book). They were a take home item for the children. They'd sit at the table and use the provided markers and color the page and then show it off on the light box. The kids loved it. I have since bought several of these Dover mini coloring books to hand out as party favors, birthday gifts for friends who love to draw and they are always well received. Magic markers seem to work best, but we've used crayons and colored pencils as well. We hang them in our windows and enjoy them till our Florida sun bleaches the color out (at which point, usually a couple months later, we recolor them)

Great Classroom Activity
I used many varieties of these in the small post card rectangle size and in the 8x10 size and had 2nd graders color them in as during my chapter book read aloud time. My classroom was blessed with a lot of windows. We posted the finished products on the windows. By the end of the school year my windows displayed a beautiful mosaic of "stained glass." The effect of coloring while listening to the story allowed students to embed the story in their minds and provided kinesthetic activity for the more restless students.

Fun art activity
My students loved these books. I bought several different ones, and they were very enthusiastic about coloring and hanging them on our windows. I would recommend these to teachers for an easy, fun art activity.

Cute
As with the other Little Dover stained glass books, it's a nice small size (I measure them at just over 5.5 inches by about 4.25 inches). The subject of each picture is identified on the back cover. The pictures themselves are not labeled. As with the others I have ordered, I usually tuck these in with gifts. They make a nice addition to a shoebox giftbox.I'm happy to do my shopping a bit early this year, as companies may need to keep workers employed. The books are printed in the USA.

Great
These books are super cute and you can do a lot with them. The pages are see-through and almost like baking paper in texture.

Works well for our purposes
My wife bought this for me. I am recovering from a very serious illness and my wife purchased this to help in my rehab. This coloring book was really nice and I enjoy using it.

I was shocked
The few tiny pics were cute but I didn't realize how tiny this coloring book was I was so shocked to see it was no bigger then my hand but for 1.99 you can't complain it was still cool coloring the pics and good to know they come in different sizes I had no clue about

Great fun
This whole series of coloured glass effect colouring pads are fab. You can use all sorts of different art materials to bring them to life and because the black outlines are quite thick they are forgiving of small inaccuracies when coloured by younger children. My kids have both enjoyed colouring and displaying them... And ey cover a good range of subjects too
