Better option than the Canon hood
When I got my 18-200mm Canon lens, I also got the proper hood for it. Unfortunately, when the lens is in wide angle mode, the hood actually vignettes the image on the sides! I was stunned by that, and set out to find a decent hood that would replace it. I got this one, and it's just what I was wanting. The only possible negative is that it screws into the filter threads rather than attaching to the lens like a Canon hood. That hasn't been a problem for me at all.One other thing - it's pretty wide, so the lens won't fit in the lens case that held it when it had the Canon hood (or without a hood). But since it's easy enough to unscrew, I carry it separately.Nice piece of equipment, especially for the price!

You will see cut offs from the sides of the lense. Terrible

Favorite Lens Hood Out There
This is my 2nd purchase (2 sizes) of this brand of lens hood, and it seems to be better quality than an off-brand rubber hood I bought recently. I like this brand because of the weight of the rubber and even when smashed, it returns to it's original shape.
