MCombo 115.9"x37.8" Window Awning Polycarbonate Panel Canopy (Brown)

This item arrived in time n seemed enough quality for the price. It was almost impossible to install.. It kept falling apart while installing. we didnt give up. used tapes n adhesives to hold in place. once installed. it was pretty. then next day rain n water seep in joints n next thing was fungus, dirt. However I stopped looking at it as it used to hurt me see what a wastage. after 3 weeks it was windy, n middle panel flew away. yes we used lot of adhesive, all the hardware etc. N now i m sitting here trying to find the replacement for the flew away part. since we drilled our brand new house n thought its pretty n useful.. seriously stay away. This is an update. These people heard me. They improved their design. Sent me free replacement. Guided me all through the way. Installing was again tough with 2/3 people. Bt once its up. Its there. Heavy rains n its fine for now. How ever the angles this time were smaller n we ended up drilling more holes in the building. Bt its good going now. Thank u!

I have no idea how long this will last but it is a very nice product in terms of design and style. The attachment expansion bolts are a little flaky, so you might consider lag bolts or machine bolts/nuts depending on the installation requirements. As with most imported products the instructions are atrocious, but I have grown accustomed to this. If you have some mechanical skills it won't be hard to figure out. It is mostly plastic, very light, and quite sturdy once installed. Because of the slick surface and steep pitch, it may work fine with light snow because I think the snow will just slide off--we'll see. Ice may be a different situation, but I'll know by spring. It looks good and serves a useful purpose for rain. Packaging could have easily gotten damaged in shipment, but it didn't. Amazon Prime got it here in 2 days as promised. The price is very fair.

I bought this 39X78 Awning to cover our wood potting bench and wood pool cabinet from the weather. I intended to shorten this Awning to fit in the space I needed anyway, so I anticipated it was going to be a small job. To shorten this 39X78 Awning you must cut not only the Polycarbonate boards (4), but (2) other plastic connecting pieces and (2) front and (2) rear aluminum pieces. See my Photo of the pieces you'll need to cut. After I measured and cut what I needed to, it took me by myself about 30 mins to install on our wood shed wall. The Seller provided 3 1/4" bolts that I might of used if installing into Brick or stucco. I didn't use their bolts (too long) and instead used my own screws and washers. The instructions look like they were copied 1,000's of times, hard to tell orientation of certain parts. Also the instructions appear to show you assembling this Awning as one piece after you put it together. I installed it left to right, piece by piece. Not as one whole piece. Much easier. I made sure the brackets were level as I moved to the next bracket. However when I was finished, I noticed the Awning had a slight bow in middle. Not sure why. One last mention. Each polycarbonate panel is what they call 'twin wall' polycarbonate panels. UV rated and each row is hollow. So if the panels are not tight against the brackets when installed, they may get water inside of the panel when it rains. Overall I expect these panels should last a long time.

I am a contractor. I work on houses for a living. I require good quality products so that once I finish a job it stays finished and the customer is happy. I installed the awning on a big renovation project. The awning looked great for the first several years. Then it began to look worse and worse. After 5 years it is full of holes and needs to be replaced. I can't afford to replace outdoor products every 5 years. In the picture you can see that it is full of holes and warped. The holes are NOT from hail damage. This product is defective and customer service recommended that I buy a new one. I am planning on replacing the polycarbonate panels with aluminum sheets. Hopefully the supports don't give out next. This is perfect to buy if you want to replace it within 5 years.

It gets 3 stars for being lightweight, attractive and not very expensive. It loses two stars for being difficult to assemble, and for having to use some of my own hardware in order to do it. The manual that came with it recommends that you read the entire instruction before starting to assemble it. I would agree, but only because of the drawings. They also tell you that two people are needed for assembly. That part is also true, unless you're an octopus. Once you understand how it goes together you may find the manual is no longer helpful. As an example I found it easier to attach the A Panels to the D Connecting Rod prior to adding the B and C fixed bars, as opposed to the written process in Step 4. When I got to Step 6 I found I needed to drill pilot holes (use a 3/32 bit) in the B and C bars in order to accept the set screws. Without pilot holes in the aluminum bars, the set screws will simply strip and slip from the plastic mounting bracket. They provide enough screws for the front (B) bar, but no screws were provided for the rear (C) bar. I had to add my own stainless steel M4 x 8mm pan head screws. You can also use #6 x 1/2" if you don't have metric, but be sure to use stainless steel so it won't rust. I now have my awning successfully assembled and I'm ready to mount it to my wall. I'm using it to shade the pool equipment from a partial sun exposure behind my garage. It will provide enough shade for the couple of hours the sun peeks through that area, which will extend the life of all the PVC piping and valves. After I get it mounted I'll take a photo or two and add them to my review. The only mounting hardware that comes with this package are masonry anchors. I have a wooden frame garage with wood siding. I have attached a 10-foot pressure treated 2x6 for the top mount, and a 10-foot pressure treated 2x4 for the bottom mount. These are both screwed into the framing studs for the garage. I'll have to supply my own 1/2" x 1-5/8" galvanized lag screws since the masonry anchors are useless for this installation. Adding a Z-bar and some caulk across the top edge will protect my siding from water damage. What remains to be seen is if this assembly will hold up to the wind over time. It doesn't seem sturdy enough to hold up against much of this Texas Gulf Coast wind, or any amount of hail. But I'll reserve judgment until it has been tested by one of our infamous weather events. After it has I'll return to my review for additional comments. If you choose to get one of these, bring your own supply of hardware and plenty of patience. You'll need both. Good luck.

It came in a small box, not very heavy. The parts were easy to assemble , only for the the third part I would recommend to have a second person to help hold the awning to get the last panel into the groove. I than had the awning mounted by my handyman (did not have the heavy drill needed for a bearing wall) above my office window, looking out to the south, which usually gets very hot during the summer months. It makes a big difference. Not only does it look good and still keeps the room light, but it also withstands the hefty winds we sometimes get. I am very happy with it.

I really like the end results but it was VERY difficult for me to install alone (Senior Citizen). It was a 3 man job just to balance the final install. My handyman and son had to attach 2x8 board sections to my stucco fascia for strength. The bolts that came with it did not work so he had to purchase steel lags. The measurements were slightly off and we had to re-do and re-position a couple of times. 6 hours on Sat and 4 hours on Sun and it was finally up - just in time for 110 degree temps! It has added @ 4 feet of shade to the front foyer and my door is no longer hot to touch. It should also keep the rain from splashing against the door which has to be re-stained each year. Overall, I recommend - but make sure you have patient people to help with the install!

LOVE THESE I HAVE 3 NO PROBLEMS WITH HIGH 50-60 mph winds and loads of snow!!!!!

east to put together , very light , time will tell how it will work for now I couldn't be more happy ., looks great over my entrance door . finally can stay dry opening my door while its raining which it did the day after I put this up .

The hardware that came with it was flimsy and wouldn't hold. I had to go out and buy ($28) worth of lag bolts and washers to properly secure this to my house. Also, the instructions are very lacking. It's a two person job, with lots of patience.

Looks nice. Put together fairly easy...Only problem is it was advertised as white...the box said white...The frame is grey. Looks a little weird on the house as there is no grey.

Took my son 4 hours to put up and still couldn't get the final plastic shield in the right place. Well it didn't last past the first snow fall. The weight of the snow on it caused it to split, not break, the seam split. It's not something you can take down in the winter. My husband curses at it overtime he looks at it. It came apart and fell off soon after this review. Never again.
