Liked it so well, I bought another!
Got one of these for my parents' 2003 Honda Element which has really awkward sight lines. Worked great - easy install if you're somewhat handy, surprisingly good low-light performance, no issues with the wireless connection. Got a 2010 Camry for my daughter recently, and buying another of these backup cameras was the first thing I did. Think about whether you want to tie the camera to the reverse light, or to the license plate bulbs. We always drive with our lights on and having the camera available when you're driving forward (into the garage or pulling through a parking spot) is nice, so I used the license plate bulb both times. That was really a necessity in the Element (the reverse lights were a long way away - didn't want to mess with all that wiring) but was a flip of the coin for the Camry since the reverse lights are in the trunk lid.The optional red/green/yellow lines on the video are a great feature with lots of choices to fit your setup and the monitor remembers which one you set it to. Display is really fast; no waiting around for it to boot or warm up or connect to the camera.Anyway, anytime I hear a friend lamenting the lack of a backup camera in their vehicle, I tell them to get this - at this price there's no excuse not to.

Great quality; challenged mounting it inside
I drive a 2005 model car that I still love, but after seeing my husband's 2015 model with a backup camera, I looked for an aftermarket camera for my ride. This little camera does a great job. The picture is clear and crisp, and honestly better quality than expected. Of course the quality diminishes slightly at night as most any camera does. Still it is helpful and functional. I had my mechanic install it for me since the car was due for service at the time the camera came. Mechanic said installation was a breeze. My only frustration with the camera is the mounting of it inside the car. The suction mount works well as long the car sits in the garage. But once out and about, the temperature of the dash heats up in the sun, and the suction will not hold. I've been reading others' reviews and may try mounting it on the glass of the windshield or using velcro to mount it. That's disappointing. But since the camera works so well, it is a small annoyance to deal with in order to have the advantage of seeing what's behind me. I recommend this unit to anyone wanting an aftermarket backup camera for an older model car.

Great Budget option for cars OR shorter RV's
This item had a great price, and very straightforward installation.I installed it in the 'Camera Ready' prep area on the back of my 17' RV.I would advise against using the little connector clips that they include - they did NOT connect the wires together for my install. I had to pull everything back out and use traditional crimp-style connectors with heat shrink. One knock on this item is the very poor picture quality. I have seen reviews boasting about how clear the picture is, but mine is VERY grainy. I couldn't ready a sign on the building directly behind where my RV is parked - it was about 8 feet away from the camera, with very large lettering, but was anything but clear on the picture. All of that said, this is a decent, affordable alternative to something like a Furrion, which will run you several hundred dollars.I think it is worth ~$80, which is the price I paid.

This review is after 1+ year of use: A+
I installed this Boscam backup camera a year and a few months ago. This review will only cover reliability and customer satisfaction; I humbly suggest that this info will be more useful to you than yet another evaluation of features, usability, etc.My car is garaged most of the time and the camera is used several days a week. It's been in a few heavy rain storms but nothing severe or involving snow/ice. It has performed flawlessly since it was installed. The monitor has only lost contact with the camera when the battery ran out (I don't use the solar charger). Each time I recharged the battery I had to re-pair the monitor with the camera, but the process is pretty easy and fast. I haven't measured how long the battery lasts but my sense is at least 3 months per charge, and the battery life hasn't gone down. The video quality has stayed the same, which IMO is good and completely fine for its purpose, even if it's not as sharp as the video from pre-installed backup cameras. I am 100% satisfied with the reliability of this camera/monitor over an extended period of time.

Great product and customer service
Camera provides excellent vision behind my RV.I wired it to my tail light so I can have it on when driving. I tow my Jeep, so it is important to be able to watch it.I’ve had this unit for a couple of years and used it in all types of weather. . A while back it suddenly stopped working. I contacted the company and they helped me determine what was wrong. They sent me a new camera wire with the antenna fee of charge, and added an additional 6 months of warranty!!The system is working like new now.I highly recommend this product, both for quality and customer service.Don

Picture is pretty good, a few issues with restarting
Overall it is a pretty good camera and clear enough. I was able to install by myself on the Transporter T5, using a coat hanger to get it through the cable section on the rear door. The only issue I had was that the camera at time requires a restart to kick in after its been running for a while. Not sure of the reason for this.
