MyMathLab: Student Access Kit

The online classes are great, you can do so many more homework examples in less time than trying to figure it all out on your book. The book is valuable too if you can get an older edition (its almost exactly the same usually) for less than a new one. These are definately cheaper online than anywhere else College book stores often charge a lot for their books. My class was not online but the homework, quizzes, and examples were online using this system. At first I thought I wouldnt like it, I was wrong this is much easier for the teacher and the student to do homework and run the gauntlet of examples over and over again until it expires. I just wish the software was downloadable to my computer so I can use it anytime without the internet anywhere and as many times and for as long as I should ever indulge myself to want to. The site works in IE and Firefox and probally others Make sure you have Shockwave and Flash and Java installed to use all of the heavily custom scripting embedded into the system. Reading the book is difficult because of size on the screen, page loads, etc but thats why I say get the real book to study it. and use the online portion to do excersizes, quizzes, homework. The online site is rarely down and in the few times it was they gave plenty of prior notice. From 1 to 2 weeks early. The only privacy, security flaw i see is that you can message other students in your "class" and this exposes the emails they used to register their class. I am against proliferation of user information and maintain the right to have my anonymous privacy. Although most people dont care it is a concern I give to any company. Overall worth the cost minus the book because I found a book two editions old, 4 years old, in exact perfect condition and the pages to the examples were identical. NEW With the book its up to the individual student or the teacher if they require the book and the online portion or only the online portion or only the book and not the online part. I HAVE to get this for college because the professors use the homework from this and implement it into their grading system. I've bought this twice on Amazon, once somewhere else, but Amazon has the best price for MyMathLab. This can also be MyStatLab. My college's math department isn't that great, and I have to teach myself. MyMathLab has made me pass my courses so far. They have practices, sometimes videos, and the ebook. I don't want to buy the book for my classes because they are really expensive. But I have the ebook right on MyMathLab and it's no additional cost. Just the book, home work, a bunch of problems to do/practice, etc. This was the situation for College Algebra, Statistics, and now Methods of Calculus. They give examples, tell you how to work problems, everything you need when you want to teach yourself. I don't think I would have passed if it wasn't for this. It's easy for professors/teachers to keep up with their grades as well. My kit's have came on time and the codes worked. Update : OH MY GOODNESS I PASSED CALCULUS BARELY! I didn't buy the book for my class, since the ebook is in mymathlab, and then because I'm crazy and took a 6 week summer course for CALCULUS, this thing helped so much. PHEW!!!!!!

I was a little tentative about ordering this product online because of all of the bad reviews I saw on here but there was no problem. Since I've used access codes for different math classes before, I knew what to expect when I received the product. It is not a book and it doesn't come with multiple pieces and parts; all it is is a cardboard folder with the access code for installation inside and brief descriptions of the program, along with some screenshots. Because I ordered the product directly through Amazon, and not a marketplace seller, there were no problems with the access code being used or tampered with. Many buyers on here are saying they were upset because they received the product and the code was either uncovered, used, or invalid. When you received your access kit, the code should be covered up with a strip of cardboard that reads, "Student Access Code > PULL" that will need to be torn off to reveal the code underneath. The only reason I could see this being a problem for so many people is that I noticed they bought the product "Used." When buying something like this from a market place seller (something that can only be used once), it would be wise to contact the seller if you can and make sure that the code has not been used or uncovered. Otherwise, you're just buying a very expensive piece of cardboard! Your best bet would be to order through Amazon. I've received my kit and installed it and there were no problems with the product whatsoever. I'm very glad I got it here rather than paying $80 at the college bookstore!

I do not fault this person but this company needs to get their #### together cause they are stealing my time. I bought the new item listed here it did not work. I was very skeptical about ordering this product on line but it arrived quickly and I was able to log on with no problem. (Bought it new) I also figured this product was waste of money but had to buy it only because my professor was making us. (Can't access hw or quizzes without it) Turns out this product has taught me more than the book has. On every problem there is a "help me with this problem" feature and it walks you through the problem step by step. There is also a show me an example figure that is very useful too. The show me feature does all the work and just shows every step. The help feature makes you enter in all the calculations before you can move on. (If you enter the wrong number in after 3 attempts it gives you the correct answer and moves on to the next step.) My teacher has it set up for a student to attempt a problem 4 times before he/she is given a score of 0. I truly feel this product is worth the inflated price. And as a public school teacher I wish I could use this in my classes but the cost would be way to high.

After struggling with math all through high school, I fell in love with MyMathLab after taking a Advanced Algebra class using it. I found the site easy to use and navigate, and it was also very helpful. It makes homework so much easier and I can honestly say I learned more from this program than from my university proffessor. In my previous experience with this product, each of our homework assignments were 10 questions, and each question represented a slightly different way of expressing the concepts you were learning. If you did not understand the question, a guided tutorial would work you through the problem, give you the answer, and present you with a new, but like, question. Getting immediate feedback on questions I could not otherwise answer was great, and it saved a trip across campus to the professor's office. I also enjoyed being able to know exactly were I stood in the class, and having all the resources to exceed. Assuming your professor updates outside class work, MyMathLab tracks all of your test, quizes, and homework scores so you will always know how you are doing. Many other features such as practice problems and practice tests gave me plenty of exposure to the concepts before taking a graded paper test in class. The book was provided in an electronic format with the online program, which meant there was no need to buy a $100+ textbook. It's also great that the program is 100% online, so there is no software to download and you can do homework anywhere you have the Internet.

I read the handful of reviews about the access code not working so I was leery about ordering this. Just to be sure I contacted Amazon PRIOR to ordering to ensure that if I had that problem I would be given a full refund. I was assured that this product was fulfilled and guaranteed BY Amazon and if I had any trouble I WOULD certainly be entitled to a replacement or refund (whichever I choose). I got mine in and it worked like a charm. There is really NO risk involved in ordering this. I don't know what everyone is so upset about. Reviewers said it was a "waste of money" or they were out the price of this product plus the price of a new packet from another source. That's just not true unless they were too dumb to return it which would be entirely their own fault. Also, Course Compass offers 17 day temporary access to this program so that you can still access your class while you are sorting this all out (if your code doesn't work or something). That's what I did b/c I needed to log on while I was waiting for this to arrive. All-in-all saving $30 is WELL WORTH it. Chances are your code WILL WORK. (it did for the other seventy-something people on here) and if it doesn't just get your money back and buy access for full price. The End :)

I had to buy access to the online portion of my statistics course, but I didn't want to pay Pearson $80 for the privilege. This appeared to be the cheapest code available so I bought it despite recent the negative reviews. The access code arrived and it worked exactly like it should when I typed it in. One thing I liked about the way the codes are formatted it that they are mostly words instead of alphanumeric codes that can be tedious to enter. If you have used MyMathLab before, you know that there is a "show me how to solve this" button on all the homework questions. This usually makes solving homework equations very easy. In a class like stats where you can do the handwritten way in 30 minutes and the calculator way in 20, be sure to look at your textbook for calculator instructions. This usually includes a digital copy of the textbook too (depending on your class), which is nice. You may also be able to use the mypeason app to view your grade and homework progress on your iDevice (again, this depends on your class). I used the digital textbook and get a physical copy of an older edition for a few dollars here on Amazon so that I could have the content easily accessible in either format.

The password works. But I think it would be easier to sent the password information by email instead of postage.

The product received was correct and I did receive it on time, however the access code had expired. I had to contact technical support and get a new one.

Received the item quickly, and when I got it it looked sealed etc, the code wasn't used before. But upon trying it several times I got error 84 on the Pearson website, so no dice. Frustrating, as if school wasn't stressful enough XD.
