Works like a dream, straight out of the box.
There is a reason Lamy Safaris are loved by fountain pen users all over the world.Took it out of the box, put the ink cartridge in and it started working immediately. I got the EF nib and even with that it writes extremely smoothly with no hard starts or railroading. Lines are extremely consistent too so great for sketching. The pen's body is made of plastic but its good quality plastic and it does feel quite good in hand(I was expecting it to be flimsy).Absolutely zero hassle. No need to clean/rinse feed and nib, smoothen tines etc, the ink in the cartridge is lamy blue and it's a beautiful shade of blue(unlike kaweco's horrendous blue ink cartridge). There is no converter in this particular version though so I had to order a z24/28 converter separately.Rating- 4/5(include the converter Lamy. Jinhao has converters in their pens. I'm sure you can afford to include converters in your pens too).

Decent Purchase
If you correlate a pen's weight to its build quality then probably look for other options. But if you like lightweight pens then this is a great purchase at the price point it comes.Lamy safari is light and has a robust build quality. The fit and finish is also great. It comes with a Lamy blue cartridge, a Z28 converter and a warranty card. The wire clip on the cap is stiff. The two facets in the grip section and the textured finish helps you to grip it securely and comfortably (if you have a tripod grip of course, otherwise change how you grip the pen or look for other options). The barrel tapers very slightly and has an ink window which is very functional. The converter holds approximately 0.8 ml ink.The nib is fairly smooth and has slight feedback. Although it is finer than Parker Vector, I found it smoother than the Vector. Smoothness also depends on the ink and paper you pair it with. Lamy EF nib's line width is in between Pilot's F and M steel nibs. The ink flow is moderate. The nib is easily interchangeable with other Lamy steel or gold nibs.Overall it is a great pen for long hours writing, note taking and everyday use. Because it has good build quality, it doesn't need much care or handling. I am very happy with the purchase.Edit: Comparing the Lamy Safari EF with Pilot Metropolitan F, I found the Pilot noticeably smoother even though it's finer. Whether smoothness is a priority varies from person to person but for me it is. So I am decreasing one ⭐.Edit 2: Lamy's F nib is also smoother than its EF nib though it produces slightly thicker lines (sometimes not noticeable at all). So I would recommend to go for the fine nib rather than the extra fine nib. Pictures of writing by the two nib sizes is attached.

Excellent Pen
This is my first pen and the cartridge came with it is just fine and not extraordinary, the ink of the cartridge is not smudge free and definitely not waterproof. Pan came with the converter but the converter is not mentioned in the package. Nice pen and good grip

Very nice 👍
This pen is very good and I had borrowed this pen from the student yard and you should buy this pen now because it will teach you how to hold the fountain pen. Thanks

Extra Fine is Extra Nice
If you need to make notes or write for extended periods, extra fine Lamy is the intimate workhorse fountain pen. The unique grip ensures that one holds the pen in the ideal manner. Ink flow is seamless. The extra fine nib ensures no smudging takes place and it’s possible to write in a small hand as well.Don’t use very thick inks with aa EF nib.I’m using Waterman inks.

Stiff & smooth writing
The pen is designed very well, everything functions with a purpose from the snap of sealing the cap to holding it with the grooves fitting snugly in my large hand, the pen is plain but upon inspection you could appreciate the design. The nib is stiff and writes smoothly with no skipping and is always ready to write even if left capped for days, although this may vary with your ink.As clean as this pen is the fact that it does not come with an ink converter is troublesome and I would pay a slightly higher price point to have one included instead of scrounging around to buy another one separately. It is a good gift since someone new to fountain pens would probably still appreciate the novelty of writing with such a nice tool (especially if a fancy bottle of ink and converter were added).Personally I use this pen primarily for sketching with a wet maroon ink and skim over the sketches with a water brush pen for texture and shading, the pen isn't scratching the surface of the paper or skipping and leaves enough ink to smear. I'd almost say this is somewhere between an EF-F margin of sharpness.I will probably buy more copies of this pen in different colours, and wholly recommend this pen if you are even considering using one for yourself or as a gift. The Lamy Z26 Converter is what I ended up buying for this pen which does work but it did cost half as much as this pen so beware the total cost of pen, ink and shipping.

Finally sourced the extra fine version of Safari
This pen came overnight for $8. The pen itself cost $32. The price for shipping and products were the best. I couldn't choose a different colour but I could have ordered through Milligram in Melbourne if I felt strongly about that, but then I would be paying $50 + shipping. The pen writes like a dream!! So hard to find the extra fine nib. Pen takes T10 cartridge no problem. Very happy 😊

My Everyday Writer!
I recently got back into using fountain pens. I've been using my Waterman Hemisphere with a fine nib for quite some time, but hated how much the pen stood out while I used it in my classes. I wanted a fountain pen a bit more discrete so that I wouldn't appear too obnoxious. I read only great reviews of the Lamy Safari and although I previously dismissed it as a cheap fountain pen knockoff, I decided to give it a try. Needless to say, I was blown away. The pen came with a blue ink cartridge, but I ignored that and used the Z4 converter immediately. At first the pen wrote a bit dry. I suppose because it was brand new so it needed some time to get more consistent ink flow. Writing was definitely scratchy and I could feel the paper feedback. I almost wanted to return it, but decided to wait a little longer. After my second fill up, the pen wrote like a dream. It was wet and didn't feel scratchy at all despite being an extra fine nib. I could apply no pressure at all and the pen would not fail to write. There's no skipping either! After that, I started using the pen everyday - in class, for my journal, etc. The ink lasts a decent amount of time in the converter. I can get about 1.5-2 days on a full converter with pretty heavy use. Really goes to show how the extra fine nib slows down the ink use.The extra fine nib is noticeably thinner than the Waterman Hemisphere Fine nib. I read that Lamy nibs run a bit large, but this nib seemed true to size. I estimate the line width to be similar to that of a 0.5mm Pilot G2 pen. Perhaps slightly thicker. This is my first extra fine nib so i really can't say for certain if that's how it should be. The line width perfectly suits my writing. I find my writing to be on the smaller side and this pen definitely suits my style. My words aren't blotted by a thick nib and are perfectly legible. The plastic this pen is made out of feels very durable. The pen is on the light side. It was much lighter than I originally anticipated. The pictures made it look heavier than it actually is. This was personally not a problem for me. It is still heavier than your average pen and after not having used a fountain pen is several years, I welcomed any extra weight this pen had on a standard disposable pen.I am really enjoying this pen and would definitely recommend it to all fountain pen enthusiasts. I love the simple, plain design. It doesn't stick out and writes smooth and great. The extra fine nib is a bonus!

A ENTREGA!
