Great rope for shibari, though needs some conditioning.

The smell is so so bad - I had to air it out on my deck and it still smells bad. You can smell the rope thru the bag - it's strong and gross. The rope itself is strong and looks good but when I reach for rope when I have a beading project I reach for others due to the smell of this one. It's unfortunate. It smells like gasoline or oil - mixed with chemicals.

Great jute for Shibari. Definitely needed to be treated to get rid of the nasty chemical smell but after an hour simmer and treatment with some oil this rope softened right up.

Jute was cut and tied in two places that were close to the end of the skein. I did not discover this until after I cut cut preceding length in sections I needed for project.

Works well, though it has a smell common to manilla/jute rope. If you're using this indoors, be aware it needs to air out a few days.
